The other big race of the day from the venue is the Abernant.
For Craven Stakes racing odds we have a field of 10 declared runners to dig through for this 1-mile Group 3 contest.
MASTER OF THE SEA is lining up as the current favourite in the market, but this is a good strong field that he is taking on.

Master Of The Seas 5/2 FAV in Craven Stakes racing odds
MASTER OF THE SEAS is the current 5/2 favourite for the Craven Stakes racing odds* (odds record at 19:48 GMT on April 14th, 2021 at Bet365).
He had a run 49 days ago at Meydan and he was the odds-on favourite for that one, but could only come home second.
The hood goes on for Master Of The Seas in this one and as a juvenile, he did win two of his three starts.
One of those was the Superlative Stakes on the July course here at Newmarket.
Jockey William Buick has passed up the chance of LA BAROSSA in this fixture for Master Of The Sea. Is that telling?
La Barrosa the way to go in Craven Stakes racing odds?
We think that there is a very strong challenge coming in from LA BAROSSA in this one, a stablemate of Masters Of The Seas under Charlie Appleby,
He was looking very good as a juvenile, winning his first two racetrack appearances and one for those was in a Group 3 here at Newmarket in September.
On his debut, La Barrosa had scored in an Ascot maiden. He was last seen in France on his third run where he was fifth.
But we can draw a line through that because the ground was heavy and was a clear issue for the runner.
But on the good ground that is awaiting him back at Newmarket on Thursday, La Barossa should be primed and set for a very strong debut as a three-year-old.
La Barrosa is our 4/1 tip in Craven Stakes racing odds* (odds record at 19:48 GMT on April 14th, 2021 at Bet365).
Khartoum the best of the chasing pack?
Charlie Appleby’s pair of La Barossa and Master Of The Sea are strong in this one. Who could be waiting in the wings behind them?
Well KHARTOUM is worth a look in this one for Aiden O’Brien. There was a promising third on his debut, but then he went better on his second and final run as a juvenile.
Khartoum shone in a 14 runner Curragh maiden in October. That was on the ground which had a bit more cut in it than he will find on Thursday.
There is a big jump up in class for Khartoum in this one, but place claims are more than reasonable for the runner who is a current quote of 13/2 in Craven Stakes racing odds* (odds record at 19:48 GMT on April 14th, 2021 at Bet365).

Devilwala needs consideration
Another of Aiden O’Brien’s hands in this one is with DEVILWALA who also needs some consideration for the shortlist.
He was a busy juvenile, having had five racetrack appearances, which was a lot more than most of these in the field.
After scoring on his debut he failed to add to that win. However, he was notably knocking around Group companies as a two-year-old.
Notably, he was fourth in the Dewhurst right here at Newmarket in October last year.
This will be his first run since the Breeders’ Cup in which he was never in the frame at Keeneland.
But if you scratch that trip across the pond off, the Devilwala has some reasonable place claims for the contest as well.
Mystery Smiles to leap forward?
There was a lot to lie about MYSTERY SMILES as a 2-year-old.
He claimed back to back wins at the start of his career, nailing victories at Windsor and Chester.
He looks well-bred for living among Group company and he was tried in two such fixtures, claiming a credible third-place finish in both of those.
The harder graft that is going to be needed in this one looks as if it could be right in his wheelhouse.
Will he take a big enough leap forward on his debut as a three-year-old to get in the frame?
Mystery Smiles is 16/1 each-way option* (odds record at 19:48 GMT on April 14th, 2021 at Bet365).
The Rest Of The Runners
AKMAAM won impressively at Ascot on his debut in September and put in a good shift over course and distance in the Autumn Stakes. He’s interesting on his return.
IMPERIAL SANDS won at Kempton and was second over course and distance 10 days ago. He will be stepping onto the turf for the first time but retains potential.
ROYAL AIR FORCE is an unknown quantity in this contest after one trip as a juvenile. He won his debut, a Yarmouth novice, convincingly. There’s a big jump up in class here.
SANDHURST had a promising enough debut, before pushing on to win a minor event at Gowran in October.
THE ROSSTAFARIAN picked up a win on his debut, getting a fine win in a Salisbury novice.
He went to the listed company next and claimed a decent third at Pontefract. He may need to find a big improvement now.
Predictions & Tips for Craven Stakes Racing Odds
This looks like being a great race and we can’t look past LA BARROSA for the win at 4/1* (odds record at 19:48 GMT on April 14th, 2021 at Bet365).
We can skip over his misfire last time out because the ground conditions clearly hampered him. But two very encouraging wins as a juvenile puts him top of our list.
MASTER OF THE SEA should be right in the mix, of course, he looks too good to be kept too quiet on the day and has a lot to offer this season.
Our other pick is going to be AKMAAM from a 10/1 quote to produce a strong run* (odds record at 19:48 GMT on April 14th, 2021 at Bet365). The fact that he wasn’t disgraced over course and distance in October checks a nice box for us.
