15:35 Supreme Trial Novices’ Hurdle Odds & Tips: William Hill offer 6/5 on Third Time Lucki – 15th November 2020

Courtandbould can get the better of Third Time Lucki in Supreme Trial

Horse Racing Betting

Another of the big races from Sunday’s Cheltenham card is the Supreme Trial Novices’ Hurdle. This should be a cracker.

This is a Grade 2 hurdle contest over a 2m trip. The race is open to 4 year olds and above and we have a compact field of six declared.

Heading up that field, strongly too, is THIRD TIME LUCKI.

It was five year old HANG IN THERE who scored the win in last season’s renewal from a 6/1 SP (Adam Wedge / Miss E C Lavelle).

Supreme Trial Novices’ Hurdle

Third Time Lucki 6/5
Courtandbould 10/3
Fidelio Vallis 7/2
Jungle Junction 8/1
For Pleasure 10/1
Lessankan 66/1

Third Time Lucky the 6/5 favourite for Supreme Trial Novices’ Hurdle

There is a strong market leader here at 6/5 in THIRD TIME LUCKI* (betting odds taken from William Hill at 20:08 GMT on Saturday, 14th 2020).

He is looking for a hat-trick for David Skelton after notching up his second win over the hurdles this season a couple of weeks ago.

He looks to be a pretty sharp novice. That recent score happened on a 2m trip at Wetherby when he defied a penalty.

So that suggests that there is even more to come from him. The other win that he took in this campaign was on his reappearance at Uttoxeter.

Third Time Lucki was a fourth place finish in the Champion Bumper and now takes himself up to a higher grade here.

He looks to be the one that sets the standard and it should be all eyes on him for the Supreme next year if he delivers here as expected.

Courtandbould the big threat to the favourite?

The last time that COURTANDBOULD was seen was in the Persian War at Chepstow.

He was a second place finisher there, finding only MCFABULOUS too good on the road.

So he comes down in trip after that one and we think that he has a big chance of getting close here.

The softer conditions are likely to play to his favour as well here.

Courtandbould has been really prolific over the hurdles this season and scored at Fontwell in his penultimate race.

It’s that very strong showing that he had at Chetlown last time out that sees him being strong claims.

Courtandbold is an eye catching 10/3 option for the run here at Cheltenham on Sunday for horse racing betting* (betting odds taken from William Hill at 20:08 GMT on Saturday, 14th 2020).

Will Fidelio Vallis challenge after a good reappearance?

FIDELIO VALIIS scored a runner up spot on his reappearance run last month.

That was on a 2m trip at Kempton on slightly firmer ground.

He found only MRS HYDE too good in that one, who has since gone on to win again.

So that franks the form of Fidelio Vallis further.

He was running freely at Kempton in that Listed trip. This isn’t the strongest of fields behind the two that we have already mentioned.

So we feel that there should be decent place claims on offer for the Paul Nicholls-trained gelding at 7/2* (betting odds taken from William Hill at 20:08 GMT on Saturday, 14th 2020).

Can Jungle Junction mount a challenge?

JUNGLE JUNCTION could have a say in this because we haven’t seen what he can do this season yet.

He is an 8/1 contender for Sunday’s run at Cheltenham for horse racing betting* (betting odds taken from William Hill at 20:08 GMT on Saturday, 14th 2020).

He has had a reappearance run this season. However, his rider was unseated at Navan last week.

Jungle Junction had been hampered in that one, so he’s hard to gauge.

Last season he picked up his first hurdle success, which was on his debut at Navan in a maiden.

For Pleasure needs to get back to form

Last time out in action FOR PLEASURE missed a chance at a four-timer. He took on a run at Kempton and was strangely all over the place.

He was pulling very hard on the trip and kept going left. So something wasn’t right with him.

But For Pleasure secured a hattrick over the hurdles just back in September.

It will be interesting to see if connections get him straightened out.

For Pleasure was a beaten favourite in that Kempton trip and that’s the run which will make pinterest a little hesitant.

Lessankan with too much to find

The unexposed LESSANKAN is not expected to get in the picture. This is about experience.

It will be just the third racetrack appearance for him. His debut was in an Irish point and he didn’t go particularly well.

Lessankan has had a reappearance run since then, a course and distance maiden three weeks ago.

It was a fourth place finish and he looked like he needed that run, plus a few more.

Predictions & Tips for Supreme Trial Novices’ Hurdle Racing Odds

We think that we can take on the favourite.

COURTANDBOULD looks a great prospect here from a 10/3 quote* (betting odds taken from William Hill at 20:08 GMT on Saturday, 14th 2020).

His form in the Persian War at Chepstow was so good, that we actually think that he is the one to beat on Sunday, not THIRD TIME LUCKI.

Of course the latter selection is expected to be there or thereabouts.

Even though he got that Wetherby run recently, it was a bizarrely slow race. So we aren’t quite sure how he will stand up to a stronger challenge likely to come his way on Sunday.

So those are our two main picks for the shortlist of horse racing betting for the Supreme Trial Novices’ Hurdle.
