Dakota Gold the 2/1 FAV for Rous stakes racing odds

What a wonderful race this is shaping up to be. Last year’s winner DAKOTA GOLD is back for more and he is the current 2/1 favourite* (betting odds taken from Betvictor at 23:09 GMT on Tuesday, 13th October 2020).

He has developed into such a good sprinter and his form has just been getting better and better. It has been two wins in his last four trips.

The most recent of those was at York on Saturday up at Group 3.

So he has what it takes. But how much will the quick turnaround in action affect him? That is what the rest of the field is likely going to be thinking about.

Dakota Gold is under penalty and gives weight to all of the other runners.

ALJDAY
9/2

Aljady in good heart at the moment

There should be a big, big challenge coming in from ALJADY in this fixture. He has come on leaps and bounds since joining up with Robert Cowell.

Aljady arrives in great form having won his last two appearances.

He has quickly come on as a sprinter for his new year now and this season has bagged four wins in six runs. The most recent of those successes happened at Beverley three weeks ago.

He had to dig and work for that, but he did just that in a conditions fixture.

He has plenty of appeal in the Rous Stakes racing odds at 9/2* (betting odds taken from Betvictor at 23:09 GMT on Tuesday, 13th October 2020).

Moss Gill can bounce back to top form

Without a question, MOSS GILL can contend in this fixture. The conditions may be the make or break factor for him.

He was last in action at Doncaster in this sphere when there was a disappointing effort turned out by him.

Moss Gill was 6th of 8 in that contest. That was only a couple of weeks after an effort at York so it was a quick turnaround from him. So perhaps the Doncaster effort can be excused.

The form that he showed in winning the Listed City Walls Stakes at York previously showed what he is capable of.

Moss Gill is a 5/1 contender in this field* (betting odds taken from Betvictor at 23:09 GMT on Tuesday, 13th October 2020).

Blue De Vega bang in form

There was a win for BLUE DE VEGA on his last effort and he looks in prime shape right now. He is a stablemate of Aljady.

It has been four wins in his last six runs (ten runs for the campaign). That most recent victory happened on a trip to Leicester.

It was under some heavy conditions as well. He can’t be written off from this contest despite being at little bit longer odds at 10/1* (betting odds taken from Betvictor at 23:09 GMT on Tuesday, 13th October 2020).

Tis Marvellous also brings some form to the table

It wouldn’t be unreasonable to see TIS MARVELLOUS on the shortlist and in the money spots for this one. He was a runner up on his last effort which was at Newbury.

That was up in a Group 3 contest as well.

He scored a great win under conditions in September over a 5f trip at Leicester in September. Tis Marvellous has scored five times from 5f to 6f on grounds good to firm and good to soft.

Tis Marvellous will be hoping that things don’t soften any further. The smart gelding is a 5/1 option* (betting odds taken from Betvictor at 23:09 GMT on Tuesday, 13th October 2020).

The Rest of the Runners

WONDERWORK struggled badly on his last run. He has claimed a 5f win this season, that happening at Windsor a few races ago.

However, he was a long way short, finishing 9th of 11 at Haydock last month in soft conditions.

AL RAYA was almost two lengths back in third to Tis Marvellous in a 5f trip at Leicester on her last run.

She is looking for her first win of the season, but it has been a fair season from her. She has been plugging away well without reward.

MAYGOLD is out of form at the moment. She did travel well at Ayr in her penultimate race, but was still down the field at the end.

Then at Newmarket just last weekend she failed to make any kind of impression again.

PEGGIE SUE has had a couple of bright moments this season, but the mare doesn’t look to be a big threat. She was well down the pecking order in a listed run at Ayr last time out.

STAR IN THE MAKING appeals as the best of the rest in this one. She scored in her penultimate race which was at Salisbury.

In coming up in grade she then went well at Ayr, finishing 5th of 16. She faces myc stiffer opposition here, but piques big outsider interest.

Predictions & Tips for Nottingham Racing Odds

What a cracking fixture. There are so many claims in this one. With more of a rest behind him instead of just four days, we would be going with DAKOTA GOLD.

He is looking fantastic in the sprinting sphere at the moment.

But it’s that short turnaround and him giving weight to everyone else which is just going to send our interest elsewhere.

That will be to ALJADY who is having a huge revival for his new yard. It has been brilliant stuff from him recently as he is eyeing up a hat trick on Wednesday.

He looks to be full of guts, just what could be needed to dig this one out.

We are torn for the final selection in Rous Stakes racing odds. TIS MARVELLOUS, MOSS GILL and BLUE DE VEGA all have serious claims.

But it was the latter that is going to be our pick of those for this race.

It’s been some season for him, having found some new heart and he has scored in four of his last six, not having been outside of the money in that sequence.

He should be there or thereabouts.
