Amir Kabir can benefit from light handicap

This is the handicap debut for AMIR KABIR and he has been treated very kindly for it. That is helping him at the head of the market at a 7/4 odds quote* (betting odds taken from Betfred at 22:47 GMT on Tuesday, June 9th 2020).

In the two races that he has had under his belt, he put in some promising efforts. Amir Kabir’s last effort was a second place finish at Kempton in a novice event, but could well have gone and nailed the score were it not for traffic. At a mark of 74, he’s a threat.

Bavardages seeks a hattrick

At the close of last season, BAVARDAGES came on strongly posting back to back wins. Those were on the all-weather track as well. Just last week he was out again at Newcastle and ran well to collect a second place finish.

He stays at a mark of 74 for the contest which is going to likely keep him well in the frame for this contest. The form is there from Bavardas in what ill be his bow at Wolverhampton.

My Poem worth a look

3 year old filly MY POEM warrants a little bit of respect in this fixture as well. She posted a fourth place finish in each of her three racetrack appearances so far. It’s a 232 day break that she comes back from and should be a worthy contender from 9/2* (betting odds taken from Betfred at 22:47 GMT on Tuesday, June 9th 2020).

Warne’s Army brings claims

Another one worth watching for this very interesting race is WARNE’S ARMY who is a 7/1 contender* (betting odds taken from Betfred at 22:47 GMT on Tuesday, June 9th 2020). It has been three racetrack appearances from her as well. She started to look better with back to back third-place finishes in her last two runs. Warne’s Army goes at top weight however for this one which increases the pressure.

Other contenders

It is an interesting field because of the inexperienced youngster lining up. ZAMBEZI MAGIC was coming along nicely as a juvenile too and took on a big field of 14 in his last trip and finished 7th. It’s a handicap debut for him.

COME ON MY SON was a course debut winner and he was last in action at Wolverhampton as well. He put in a good effort in that to finish in the middle of the pack in a 12-horse field. He does have to deal with a tough handicap however at the top.

It’s been 10 months since NORTHERN HOPE had a run and that last showing was a really poor run at Beverley. He only managed to come home second from last in the contest. A bounce back chance is hampered by a tough handicap.

BENTLEY WOOD was out in handicap action at Linfield on his last trip. He was second from last in that contest over 10f. This race will be his first crack on the all-weather. JACK RYAN looks outclassed in this contest, not really showing too much as a novice.

Predictions & Tips

We are going straight to the head of the market for this race. That means a serious consideration on AMIR KABIR who looked super progressive in his novice efforts so far.

The handicap is well on his side here and he looks good enough to take advantage of that.

The other serious contender here is BAVARDAGES who is a very good horse and took a second place finish in his run which was handicap action.
