Flooring Porter 7/4 FAV in Champion Stayers Hurdle racing odds

The form is certainly there for FLOORING PORTER who arrives at Punchestown having just completed a hattrick.

A win in the Stayers’ Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival 42 days ago, saw Flooring Porter complete that hattrick having previously landed wins at Navan and Leopardstown.

He is without question, high class hurdler. That was his fourth win of the campaign. Porter Porter’s victory at Cheltenham was by more than three lengths.

The timing was good and the success he has had since taking races on from the front has been astounding. He’s likely to carry on in the same rich vein.

Flooring Porter is at 7/4 odds for the win* (odds recorded at 22:33 GMT on April 28th, 2021 at ladbrokes)

The Storyteller
9/1

Can Ronald Pump step forward?

RONALD PUMP has not been since November when taking a second place finish to Honeysuckle at Fairyhouse.

Another furlong and he probably would have gotten the win. So he returns from a long break for this one.

But even with that in mind, Ronald Pump does pique a little interest in the Champion Stayers Hurdle racing odds at 6/1* (odds recorded at 22:33 GMT on April 28th, 2021 at ladbrokes).

That’s because he was runner up in the Stayers’ Hurdle last year. So he is worth keeping an eye on in the market.

He should certainly be respected enough to make it to the shortlist. Ronald Pump is a good smart hurdler. He’ll have the tongue strap on as he looks to deliver from fresh in this big field.

Heaven Help Up is on the up and a potential threat

Another runner that is arriving in top form is Paul Hennessy’s HEAVEN HELP US who is on a steep upward curve of form.

On her latest run she collected the win at the Coral Cup at Cheltenham at 21f.

That was a career best effort from the mare 43 days ago as she won by 9 lengths over Craigneiche. Heaven Help Us outran 33/1 odds on the day.

It also saw her complete a double for the season and so she is just thriving at the moment. How much further can she go?

There is going to be more needed from her at this level, but form a 20/1 each way shot to have a play for the places, there is interest there* (odds recorded at 22:33 GMT on April 28th, 2021 at ladbrokes).

Can Beacon edge get closer to Flooring Porter?

In the Stayers’ hurdle at Cheltenham last month, BEACON EDGE was a very credible fourth behind Flooring Porter.

That was the first run at this 3m trip for Beacon Edge and therefore, there’s a lot of positives to take from that run.

He has been in winning form this season. Beacon Edge has claimed three successes and is a former course winner as well.

He was 5 lengths back from Flooring Porter at Cheltenham, but he was shaping well. It hinted that there could be more to come. Can he turn the tables completely on that rival?

Beacon’s Edge is heading in the right direction and easily warrants respect from 6/1* (odds recorded at 22:33 GMT on April 28th, 2021 at ladbrokes).

He may just be the pick of the bunch in looking for the one who can challenge the favourite in this one, the hardest.

Can Klassical Dream find anything on return?

7 year old KLASSICAL DREAM showed tremendous potential as a novice hurdler a couple of years ago.

There were three wins for him over the timbers at Grade 1 which made people sit up and notice.

He has been away for sixteen months though after a really poor run at Leopardstown.

Trainer Willie Mullins is sending him back into action in this one, which is a massive jump up in distance for Klassical Dream.

He will be sporting a hood for the first time as connections try and get him back on track.

It’s hard to say what he has to offer from 14/1 in Champion Stayers Hurdle racing odds* (odds recorded at 22:33 GMT on April 28th, 2021 at ladbrokes). But he’s interesting.

Best of the rest

FURY ROAD may be worth another chance. He has won two of four runs since coming back into action.

Fury Road was only narrowly defeated by Beacon Edge at Navan on his penultimate run.

He was pulled up the Stayers Hurdle at Cheltenham, but the excuses were there. Fury Road is an 8/1 shot* (odds recorded at 22:33 GMT on April 28th, 2021 at ladbrokes).

THE STORYTELLER is one of those likeable, consistent runners. He had excuses at Cheltenham on his latest run as he came back to the hurdles.

He did get the better of Minella Indo at Leopardstown in February, who in turn went on to win the Cheltenham Gold Cup.

FRENCH DYNAMITE gets the tongue strap back on as more will be needed from him at this level to take a score.

He’s a good smart hurdler though and was second to Stormy Ireland in a Fairyhouse Hurdle three weeks ago.

SALDIER makes a significant jump up in trip to take part in this one, but the Willie Mullins charge is a former course winner.

He was a distant seventh to Honeysuckle in this year’s Champions Hurdle. He’s smart enough but probably has too much to find.

Predictions & Tips for Punchestown Champion Stayers Hurdle Racing Odds

There are plenty of claims around, but none as strong as the outright favourite FLOORING PORTER.

The 7/4 favourite has been exceptional under bolder tactics and just tore the field apart at Navan to get off the mark this season.

With follow up Grade 1 wins in fixtures at Leopardstown and Cheltenham, we think he takes all the beating.

BEACON EDGE does look like the one who could potentially push him the hardest in this one. He is still on the up at the moment and put in an eye-catching run at the Stayers’ Hurdle at Cheltenham.

We do think that STORYTELLER is worth another look. He is easily good enough to get on the shortlist and we think a line can be scratched through his Cheltenham effort.

He could be seen to better effect on Thursday and is worth consideration from 9/1* (odds recorded at 22:33 GMT on April 28th, 2021 at ladbrokes).
