Midnight’s Legacy to follow up impressive debut?
MIDNIGHT’S LEGACY eked out a successful handicap debut just over two weeks ago at Haydock. That was a success by a head only. So it is likely that the extra trip on this one is going to suit him just fine.
He does go up 7lb for that recent success, but he looks good for it. He is on a hattrick now after breaking his maiden at the second attempt in October last year. Considering that recent success at the venue was after a 235 day break, he will probably take some beating.

INDIGO LAKE
Another runner heading into action in this one with winning form is INDIGO LEGACY. He scored a win at Doncaster 11 days ago and comes up 4lbs for that effort.
It was an impressive run for this son of Frankel, and it was a big step forward from him over a 12F distance.

CEDAR CAGE
There was a third place finish for CEDAR CAGE on his latest trip. That was an 11f run at Kempton on June 12th and that was his return from the winter break.
It was solid enough and there is the promise of more to come from him. That was his handicap debut and will be better off for it. This a move onto the turf for him which could give him an extra kick too.

Rest of the field
BECEPHALUS had a pretty decent autumn without managing to get on the scoreboard. His last run was just over a couple of weeks ago when he took fifth in a pretty competitive field. Will likely have to find some.
There was a good third place finish for POT OF PAINT on his last run. He enjoyed a switch back to the turf 16 days ago at the venue to put in that solid effort. May have each-way claims.
GOLD SOUK had a good time before the winter break, scoring a win and back to back runners up places. The win in that sequence was in a maiden. His reappearance happened at Newbury and never really had too much impact.
At the top of the weights for this contest is HEART REEF. There was a promising start on his debut in September, but has followed up with nothing since then among listed companies.
The outsider in this field is DANCING HARRY who will be making his third racetrack appearance. He scored on his debut and then he had a really poor return when he showed up at Lingfield earlier in the month.
Predictions & Tips
It’s hard to look past INDIGO LAKE and MIDNIGHT’S LEGACY really filling the top-two places in this contest. But which one is more likely to get the win?
We are leaning slightly towards INDIGO LAKE who has favourable weight and will have cheek pieces on. He looked to have plenty to spare given his improvement from last time out.
In terms of chasing place claims we are going to swing towards POT OF PAINT for that. He seems as if he’s much more at home on the turf and therefore a recent a/w trip can be excused.
