Fox Hill leads the market

Heading up the field for this 6f trip is FOX HILL who is a current 5/2 quote* (betting odds taken from Coral at 21:31 GMT on Wednesday, 24th June 2020). She exploded back into form with an impressive score at Thirsk last week.

Winning comes at a price and for her, it is a 5lb rise. But still, she looks to be the class act in this field. The recent win moved her on to four wins in her last six appearances and the filly looks a really good sprinter.

It may take something special to outclass her if she brings her true form. That was handicap action at Thirsk which she scored in and it was by a big four length margin as well. She brings very strong claims.

SANDRIDGE LAD

One that has potential to get into the frame is SANDRIDGE LAD. It has been very good form from him, running well even in defeat.

Given what he has produced recently he is likely to be the one that will ensure that Fox Hill doesn’t get things all her own way.

Sandridge Lad is 111233 for his recent form. He looks sharp but he ran just three days ago in a 6f handicap at Windsor. That was a third place finish from a field of 13 that he took.

Sandridge Lad is an 11/2 option for this contest currently* (betting odds taken from Coral at 21:31 GMT on Wednesday, 24th June 2020)

REQUINTO DAWN

There has been up and down form from REQUINTO DAWN but he piques interest among this company at 11/2* (betting odds taken from Coral at 21:31 GMT on Wednesday, 24th June 2020).

He hasn’t scored since back in 2018 however, that’s a streak of 20 winless fixtures.

But he looked to be somewhat back to his competitive best on his recent outing at Lingfield just over two weeks ago. He took a second place field under handicap terms, but goes up 3lb.

It’s more place claims than anything from him as it’s a tough call to expect him to get the better of Fox Hill’s power realistically.

MUTABAAHY

MUTABAAHY wasn’t up to his usual par when out on his last trip. He took fifth of 10 in a Wolverhampton handicap at a 6f distance. There is reason enough to believe that the 5 year old is better than that.

Prior to that poor effort at Wolverhampton he had taken a win at the same venue and then followed up with a second place at Newcastle. His most recent run came after a three-month break, so could be sharper for it.

Other contenders

FINAL FRONTIER had some steady form before heading off into winter break. So he’s an unpredictable entry in this field as he returned from an 8 month absence. He has course and distance success behind him.

INEXES may not be ruled out entirely in this contest either. He made his reappearance a couple of weeks ago in a 6f Kempton effort. It was only a sixth place finish for him, but he looks as if he needed it. He’s another with course and distance behind him.

Predictions & Tips

There are some good runners in this one, but nothing that is likely to bring down the challenge of FOX HILL at all. She is the class act in the field and likely to take this.

We can’t see enough in any of the challengers to get the better of her. But of the main contenders alongside Fox Hill, we have to pull focus to SANDRIDGE LAD, who is a consistent type.

We would also take a fancy in MUTABAAHY to put together a solid run in this contest. He has a lot more under his belt potentially than he showed on his last run which was well below-par.
