Al Boum Photo 6/4 FAV in Punchestown Gold Cup Racing Odds

The former Cheltenham Gold Cup champion AL BOUM PHOTO was back for this year’s renewal of the famous race at Prestbury Park.

There was a credible run from him at this year’s Gold Cup. He took a third place finish to Minella Indo. He had been targeting a straight hat-trick in the fixture.

That was now 40 days ago. So we expect him to still be nice and match fit. Willie Mullins’ nine year old is a top class chaser and he was second in his fixture back in 2019.

Al Boum Photo didn’t lose anything in defeat in that Cheltenham fixture. He is one of the major players in this field. It will be fascinating to see if he can pull this off.

Clan Des Obeaux
3/1

Clan Des Obeaux a huge threat

Dual King George winner CLAN DES OBEAUX is a massive threat at 3/1 in Punchestown Gold Cup racing odds* (odds recorded at 21:09 GMT on April 27th, 2021 at Ladbrokes).

He was last seen in the Betway Bowl at Aintree. Clan Des Obeaux totally destroyed the field in that one, doing superbly well to the cheek pieces.

That victory was claimed by a massive 26 lengths at Aintree. That was one of the most impressive performances of the Aintree Festival.

We expect another big run from him in this one for Paul Nicholls after that career best effort took his rising status to a new level.

Can Fakir D’Oudairies pull off the win?

FAKIR D’OUDAIRIES arrives in form. He recently claimed an excellent win in the Meling Chase at Aintree.

That was a high impressive result, getting the win by a big 11 lengths over a serious contender in NUTS WELL.

Fakir D’oudairies could find a way to build on that as well. He is looking more and more like a top class chaser.

That Melling Chase run was his fifth race of the season and he has at least placed in all four that he has completed.

Fakir D’Oudairies is not to be totally written off in this one. The one question mark about him will be staying the distance as he’s yet to prove stamina at 3m.

He is in the mix in this one and is a quote of 13/2 in Punchestown Gold Cup racing odds* (odds recorded at 21:09 GMT on April 27th, 2021 at Ladbrokes).

Will Kemboy find form back at home?

There was another disappointing trip to the Cheltenham Festival for KEMBOY as he was well held in the Gold Cup.

There was a 9th place finish for Willie Mullins’ nine year old in that one and he is 7/2 to respond with a win on Wednesday* (odds recorded at 21:09 GMT on April 27th, 2021 at Ladbrokes).

Kemboy did win the Punchestown Gold Cup in 2019 and is likely to be more comfortable back in Ireland.

Back in February he thrived when he scored the Irish Gold Cup at Leopardstown.

That gave him his fourth Group 1 success. Kemboy had gone from the front in that Irish Gold Cup success. The positive tactics will likely be repeated in this one. But there is a lot of class to try and keep off his tail.

Melon needs to rediscover some form

MELON is one of three runners that Wilie Mullins has in action for this race. He is another top chaser but he has been lacking some recent form.

His best performance of the season came with a third place finish in the Savills Chase at Leopardstown, but he hasn’t been able to back that up in two efforts since.

The last time that Melon was seen was in the Ryanair at Cheltenham and he pulled up there 41 days ago.

There are perhaps too many questions for him in a strong field and Melon is at 12/1 in Punchestown Gold Cup racing odds* (odds recorded at 21:09 GMT on April 27th, 2021 at Ladbrokes).

Easy Game faces a tough time

There was a win for EASY GAME on his last run . That was at the Devenish Chase at Fairyhouse for the least convincing of Willie Mullins’ runners in this one.

Easy Game was driven home well in that one, but it wasn’t a particularly strong contest.

He has a lot to find on recent form to have any kind of major impact in this fixture.

That’s comfortably reflected in the odds with Easy Game being the 28/1 outsider* (odds recorded at 21:09 GMT on April 27th, 2021 at Ladbrokes).

Predictions & Tips for Punchestown Gold Cup Racing Odds

Another cracking race for Wednesday and as our horse racing tip in Punchestown Gold Cup racing odds we are going with CLAN DES OBEAUX at 3/1* (odds recorded at 21:09 GMT on April 27th, 2021 at Ladbrokes).

He arrived after a career best at Aintree just three weeks ago. So his is more than match fit and has proven quality in him with those 2018 and 2019 King George wins.

Top class chaser AL BOUM PHOTO is likely to be right there in the mix as he is such a fluent jumper and went well in his bid for a Cheltenham Gold Cup hattrick, despite missing out.

The other to pique interest for the shorts has to be FAKIR D’OUDAIRIES who arrives with form after winning at Aintree.

His win there was good to claim the Melling Chase, but not as good as Clan Des Obeaux’s performance in the Bowl Chase.
