Tapster Stakes odds has Trueshan as market leader

TRUESAN is the frontrunner in Tapster Stakes odds at a current 15/8* (betting odds taken from Unibet at 21:13 GMT on Thursday, 16th July 2020).

He had his reappearance at Newmarket last month and settled fairly well to take fourth place.

That was in a Class 1 contest the Betfair Exchange Buckhounds Stakes (Listed). He certainly wasn’t disgraced there.

But the form of Trueshan was right there before the winter break. He won four of five trips between the start of August and the end of October.

Most of it was at Class 2 and on the evidence of his Newmarket effort, Trueshan should be right back in the frame now up a grade.

Can the consistent El Misk deliver the win?

There was a promising run from EL MISK on his reappearance at Newmarket last month. That was in a Listed race there where he was only just beaten to the punch.

Trained by John Gosden, El Misk has not been out of the top two in any of his last five runs now, winning two of those.

That recent Newmarket effort, where he was only beaten by a short head in the Fred Archer Stakes in the saddle, shows the threat he carries.

Alignak sits on a hattrick as he heads to Haydock

ALIGNAK scored on his handicap debut which was at Newcastle last month.

The Sir Michael Stoute charge got that transitional win with Oisin Murphy in the saddle in what was a Class 3 effort on the all weather at Gosforth Park.

That was at the start of June, his reappearance.

That’s back to back wins for him, so Alignak is sitting on a hattrick and is a 10/3 quote* (betting odds taken from Unibet at 21:13 GMT on Thursday, 16th July 2020).

Ispolini can bounce back

Punters may not be ready to desert ISPOLINI despite a disappointing effort last time out. He was out in the Saguaro at Newcastle on his return to action after the winter break.

That didn’t go well as he finished second from last. But the 5 year old did have a good time last year.

He won a couple of times at Meydan and then scored a victory in the German St Leger in September.

The rest of the runners

ENTANGLING hasn’t quite been up to speed since his reappearance. He’s a spirited competitor, but he seems to come up a little short time and again. He has promise, but this is some really stiff competition for him.

MOUNTAIN HUNTER gets the cheek pieces back on. He has produced some decent results, like a third place in a Meydan Group 3 effort and then he wasn’t disgraced in a run at the Wolferton Stakes (Listed) at Royal Ascot.

GRACE AND DANGER was sixth on her return to action. That was at Doncaster and she was never really on the pace at all. She has Oisin Murphy booked, but this looks far too stiff of a task coming back down in trip.

Predictions & Tips for Tapster Stakes Racing Odds

This is a good contest here with TRUESHAN expected to be a strong contender. But we are going to take a pass on him, despite him coming on really well last season at the middle distance.

EL MISK is where we are going for this one after hitting the crossbar at Newmarket in Listed action just last month. There may be more to come from him and he looks a solid option.

Although he is going to have to find a little more up at this level, ALIGNAK certainly piques interest to get into the frame as well.
