Joint favourites for 18:45 Leicester racing odds

There is RED OCTOBER and KING’S SLIPPER as the 11/4 joint favourites in Leicester racing odds for this fixture* (betting odds taken from Ladbrokes at 20:38 GMT on Monday, 6th July 2020).

We will take a look at RED OCTOBER first who has been lightly worked. He was last seen at Redcar in a handicap of the same distance last year.

He took third place in that April contest which was his first race after breaking maiden. Red October is unexposed and will have cheek pieces for the first time.

Upthere at the head of the betting market with him is KING’S SLIPPER then who has taken back to back runner-up finishes. The advantage is that he has had some recent time out on the track so should be fit and sharp.

The last of his runs was at Kempton at an 8f distance in a Class 3 handicap and handled himself well, even though he ended up being the beaten favourite. Definitely brings a threat to this field and seems to have come on very well in 2020.

Mr Coco Bean can challenge

Going from a current quote of 4/1 is MR COCO BEAN* (betting odds taken from Ladbrokes at 20:38 GMT on Monday, 6th July 2020).

He needs a bit of a bounce back performance as well after trailing home ninth at Pontefract in early June from a field of twelve.

The six year old looks to have been very well treated in the handicap for this one and in this kind of company should be in the picture.

Mr Coco Bean was in great shape last summer winning a couple of times. From this kind of low mark, he should show up and this is his second race after wind surgery.

Big Country big enough for a big show?

Having tumbled through the weights BIG COUNTRY may me able to pull something together. Early last year he fought for a good second place in Listed company at Lingfield.

He couldn’t live up to that effort and after a couple of unsuccessful trips last month, but he may be settled here and has a 7lb allowance for jockey Saffie Osborne to boot.

It may add up together for an e/w poke at best as the 12/1 outsider in Leicester racing odds* (betting odds taken from Ladbrokes at 20:38 GMT on Monday, 6th July 2020).

The Rest of the Runners

This is not a particularly strong field by any stretch of the imagination. GEETANJALI will also be claiming a 7lb allow for her jockey.

She is a course and distance winner and did a tidy job to take second at Chelmsford on her reappearance. Didn’t look sharp at Redcar on her last trip however.

GLOBAL ART took at third place finish on her reappearance, but failed to follow up by taking 8th place of 10 at Newcastle on his last trip. He is capable but there is a bit of unreliability about him.

WIND IN MY SAILS has shown very little on his return. He has won at Leicester before, and will appear here off of what appears to be a workable mark. Has plenty to prove however.

SNOW OCEAN was in good form last summer and hasn’t quite gotten back up to speed yet. He’s been consistent just without finding that extra to bank wins.

He just wasn’t positioned well at Kempton on a 1m trip last time out. Some place claims are there.

Predictions & Tips for Leicester Racing Odds

This does actually look like being a warm contest. We will kick things off with some consideration for SNOW OCEAN from a 10/1 current quote* (betting odds taken from Ladbrokes at 20:38 GMT on Monday, 6th July 2020).

His form has been better than the recent results that he has produced.

We would stay down towards the bottom of the weights as well and consider MR COCO BEAN who has been nicely treated by the handicap and is better than his last run.

As for an outright winner we can’t look past KING’S SLIPPER for this one. He was close on his last two efforts and if he comes back right in that kind of form, is more than capable of taking down this field. He will come from a stable that is in form as well.
