There is a distance of 1m 6f in play for this handicap action which is at Class 3 and open for 3 year olds only.

Six runners are declared for this trip and it looks to be a good competitive fixture as well.

Indigo Lake heads Sandown Young Stayers Handicap Odds

A gelding operation looks to have done the world of good for INDIGO LAKE who heads up the market here at 5/4* (betting odds taken from 888Sport at 23:22 GMT on Wednesday 22nd July 2020).

The son of Frankel made a return to action at Doncaster in the middle of last month, scoring a win in that fixture by a length and a half.

He followed up with a second place from seven at Haydock 11 days later. It was not the cleanest of runs there from him, he wasn’t that smooth and he didn’t get a clear run.

But punters are going to have a lot of confidence in him. He goes up in trip here and the fact that he missed a score last time, means that he didn’t get hit with a rise.

Arthurian Fable a threat to the favourite

The big question about ARTHURIAN FABLE is whether or not he can out-improve those around him. He will have Ryan Moore in the saddle as he shoots for a win here.

On his last trip he scored third of six under handicap terms at Newmarket in a 12f contest. That was in slower conditions than this one is likely to be.

He looks a pragmatic horse and seems to have a bit of staying nous about him. He could be in the frame as he seeks his first score.

Camouflaged can produce another strong run

CAMOUFLAGED will have some claims despite being a little longer at 15/2 currently* (betting odds taken from 888Sport at 23:22 GMT on Wednesday 22nd July 2020).

He was a beaten favourite last time out as he took on a 14f handicap at Bath just over a week ago. He was well clear of anyone behind him in that contest.

The runners-up finish did see him miss out on the chance to claim back to back wins. He has been outside of the places once only in his last six runs, scoring two wins in that sequence.

Can the unexposed Postileo challenge?

This will only be the third racetrack appearance for POSTILEO. He scored a sixth place on his debut and then made some nice progress in a field of 14 in a minor Doncaster event.

This will be his handicap debut and while there should be further progress to come, there will be questions over his staying strength.

Stag Horn to be a contender?

Sitting there at 9/2 alongside Postileo is STAG HORN* (betting odds taken from 888Sport at 23:22 GMT on Wednesday 22nd July 2020). He is a lightly-raced winner.

He scored a good win at Goodwood in June on what was his return to action.

Stag Horn then showed up at Ascot just under two weeks ago and was third in a field of six under handicap terms there.

Thai Power not without claims either

This is a really wide open, competitive race as THAI POWER looks one to keep on side as well. There has been good progress made by him in his last two.

The son of Kingman scored a Kempton win in June and then on the all-weather at Wolverhampton ran well to claim second of eight in a 12.2F handicap, well clear of anyone behind him.

Will he be as sharp back on the turf?

Predictions & Tips for Sandown Young Stayers Handicap Racing Odds

Is INDIGO LAKE strong enough to take on the challenge in this field? He did score a very good win over a well-handicapped Midnight’s Legacy last time out.

So he definitely has claims. We wouldn’t be afraid to have a look at THAI POWER here on a switch back to the turf.

The other that we would lean towards is Stag Horn to come back with a better run. But he was respectable over 16f at Ascot on his last effort.
