Premier League Darts Betting is hotting up now with Phil Taylor clawing his way into contention in the top four. Taylor gained some revenge over Adrian Lewis for a loss earlier in the season, by taking a 7-4 win last week in Sheffield. Taylor will be the subject of this week’s big clash as well, as he now goes toe to toe in Aberdeen on Thursday night against leader Michael van Gerwen. The first Phil Taylor v Michael van Gerwen betting match-up earlier in the season ended in a resounding 7-0 victory for the Dutchman.

Both are trending well now in good form in the Premier League and this will be Taylor’s big shot at clawing his way even closer to the top spot after such a rough start to the season. The Power starts the game five points adrift of leader Mighty Mike. Van Gerwen is priced at 13/10 for the match win, with Taylor trading at 8/5 to pick up maximum points. Should be a fascinating battle and it is double duty for Van Gerwen this week as he also has to take on Adrian Lewis in the last game of the night. Van Gerwen is 5/6 favourite to win that game against Lewis at 13/5.

Adrian Lewis’s other match of the night sees him go up against Gary Anderson, who he starts the night level on points with. It has been a four match stretch now for Lewis without a win, while Anderson has taken two in the last three. Peter Wright, who had lost just the one match over the first half of the season, hit a major stumbling block last week as he lost both of his matches, going down against Raymond van Barneveld and Gary Anderson. Wright is still in the top four and could get his chance to pick up a win again as he takes on Chisnall. Wright is 11/10 favourite to take the match win.

Sitting in eighth, and therefore last place, is Robert Thornton who faces a big uphill struggle to make it into the top four at this rate. He has lost his last two on the bounce and has only managed the one win this season, all the way back on week 3. That’s seven matches without a win posted for him, and he goes as 5/2 underdog against Raymond van Barneveld (10/11) this week, the Dutchman looking to hold onto second spot.
