It is hard to have not gotten swept up in all the thrills of 2014 Premier League Darts betting, because it has been full of surprises and wide open this year. Debutant Peter Wright still tops the table after six weeks of action, remaining unbeaten with four wins and two draws in an impressive season. The Scotsman kept his fantastic season going with a comprehensive 7-3 win over Simon Whitlock last week in Nottingham.

The action moves on to Leeds this week, and after this round, there will be just two games each left for the players before the bottom two of the ten get relegated ahead of the second half of the season. Phil Taylor is one of the men in danger of taking the drop, in a big shock for the season. Taylor took a 7-5 win over Dave Chisnall last week, only his second victory of the season, but has closed the gap on some of those above him.

Taylor takes on Wes Newton this week and odds on at 5/11 to pick up the points, while the table topping Peter Wright squares off against Raymond van Barneveld in the night’s big match. Not too much to split the two players in that match, with Wright At 5/4 and Barneveld at 8/5 respectively to take the win. Barneveld has been ticking along nicely, only taking the one defeat this season and will draw level on points with Wright if the Dutchman takes a win.

Barneveld’s  compatriot Michael Van Gerwen got back to winning ways last week, thumping Wes Newton 7-1. Mighty Mike goes up against Gary Anderson this week, with the Scotsman looking for a win which could put him in the top four. In the night’s other matches, Adrian Lewis faces off against Robert Thornton, while Dave Chisnall faces Simon Whitlock.
