Can House Edge hold supremacy over the field?

The current 6/4 market leader is HOUSE EDGE* (betting odds taken from Bet365 at 21:54 GMT on Tuesday 30th June 2020). He has put in three racetrack appearances only and on the last one, he claimed a solid second place.

That was in a field of 10 under handicap terms and so House Edge brings some nice strong claims to proceedings in this small field.

That last run was only 19 days ago and over an 11f trip, so there will be a question about the extra distance. But he could be a big player here if he positions himself well.

True Destiny can play a big part with consistency

TRUE DESTINY is a wonderfully consistent horse. He has taken a win in three of his last six runs. This will be his reappearance though after nearly a year away from the track.

True Destiny is a course and distance winner as well and in total has five scores from 16 trips on the flat. This time last year he was really running strongly in such good shape.

If he can shake off the 11-month absence and settles back down to form immediately, there is a big chance that the gelding is going to play a big role in this race from 13/8* (betting odds taken from Bet365 at 21:54 GMT on Tuesday 30th June 2020).

Blame It On Sally can raise his game

A recent run may well help the cause of BLAME IT ON SALLY. The gelding rounded off his last campaign in superb fashion, winning two of his final three races (second place).

He had a chance to get some wind in his pipes recently with a fourth-place finish at Sandown in a field of eleven. That handicap effort was 18 days ago and notably has the distance in him.

Blame It On Sally is also a course and distance winner and he is easily one to keep on the shortlist as a 9/2 option* (betting odds taken from Bet365 at 21:54 GMT on Tuesday 30th June 2020).

Rest of the runners

BERRARHI has won at Kempton before, not at distance though. He was seen 18 days ago when he looked to just be running out of a bit of rust. He was 5th in a field of twelve at Sandown up at the 14f trip.

Berrarhi has been treated lightly by the handicapper and that plays into his hands here. He is a good, solid performer in the weather.

JERSEY WONDER stepped it up recently to claim a third-place finish at Kempton 10 days ago. That was on 12f trip. So he is going to have to find a little extra distance, but did claim a runner up spot on his last visit to Kempton which was at 16f in November last year.

Rounding off the preview is BUSY STREET who hasn’t been showing the kind of form that supports would have hoped for. He is going back up significantly in trip for this one, who is actually a course and distance winner.

There has been no win in 13 trips for Busy Street and just under three weeks ago was 9th of 10 in a Newbury 12f handicap.

Predictions & Tips

We are going to swing the way of BLAME IT ON SALLY for this one. The key factor for us in siding with him is that he put a recent run on the board which should sharpen him up.

He was carrying great form at the end of last campaign and it wouldn’t be a big shock to see him in the winner circle.

We just like the experience there over the unexposed HOUSE EDGE who is going to be under pressure for the extra trip for this contest. TRUE DESTINY, if defying a long 11-month absence, could feature as well.
