2018 Winter Olympics – Men’s 4-Man Bobsleigh Winners Odds & Preview

GB in the medal hunt on final day

Sports Betting

One of the highlights of the final day of the 2018 Winter Olympics will be the men’s 4-man Bobsleigh final. There is big British interest in this one as Team GB go in search of their first Olympic medal in the sport since Nagano, Japan in 1998.

Four years ago they came home fourth in the event but will retrospectively get a bronze medal after doping bans for others who finished above them. GBR have two sleds in the finals, GBR1 and GBR2 piloted by Brad Hall and Lamin Deen and really there is no dominant team between them which gives Team GB a pretty good shot at getting themselves up on the podium.

Both have landed World Cup podium finishes this season, with Deen getting a second in Whistler, Canada and Hall getting a bronze in Utah. There’s really no reason why one of them can’t produce a good enough run to get themselves on the podium, but it’s a real toss-up as to who that would be.

Of the two British pilots, it is Deen who is the shortest-priced 40/1 option at Ladbrokes, with Hall at 66/1* (betting odds taken at 6.30 p.m. on February 23rd, 2018). That is to win gold though so it’s worth backing a podium finish for someone. The outright favourite is Germany’s Johannes Lochner who has four World Cup goals this season and they are the 9/4 outright favourites to land gold at Ladbrokes* (betting odds taken at 6.30 p.m. on February 23rd, 2018).

The other German front-runner is Nico Walther who has three gold medals this season in the World Cup so the Germans are more than likely going to end up occupying the top two places for the event. Canada’s Justin Kripps and the two Latvian crews polluted by Oskars Melbardis and Oskars Kibermanis are all pretty much in the same boat as the Team GB crews, all capable of producing a good run to get up on the podium.

Bobsleigh Winners Odds*
