2020 US Open Betting Odds sees Novak Djokovic sitting at the head of the market as a 5/6 favourite to take the title in New York* (betting odds taken from Bet365 at 04:09 GMT on Friday, 28th August 2020).

The US Open 2020 will be played behind closed doors in New York and it will be an interesting tournament, actually being hosted as only the second Grand Slam of the year.

It is usually the last. Most of the world’s current top ten players are in attendance for the event at Flushing Meadows, but the three big absentees are Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer Nick Kyrgios.

But Andy Murray is back in action in his first Grand Slam tournament appearance since last year’s Australian Open.

This year’s US Open Betting odds will be fascinating. The tournament will start on Monday, August 31st and run through to its conclusion on September 13th.

Novak Djokovic the favourite in 2020 US Open Tennis Odds

It’s hard to get a clear picture of everything this year, with so little tennis having been played.

But three-time US Open winner Novak Djokovic is the outright favourite at 5/6 ahead of the event* (betting odds taken from Bet365 at 04:09 GMT on Friday, 28th August 2020).

He had a good week in New York during the warm-up tournament, the Western & Southern Open (usually hosted in Cincinnati). Djokovic lifted the title there, beating Milos Raonic in the final.

It’s hard to look past Djokvoci here with his two big competitors in Nadal and Federer out of the way. He will be looking for his fourth US Open title, having reached eight finals at Flushing Meadows.

Daniil Medvedev

The Russian who was the losing finalist twelve months ago at the US Open to Rafael Nadal could be the best value pick behind the outright favourite Djokovic.

Medvedev is the current 13/2 second favourite and he also had a tidy week at the Western & Southern Open, where he was a losing quarter-finalist to Roberto Bautista Agut* (betting odds taken from Bet365 at 04:09 GMT on Friday, 28th August 2020).

In such a fragmented season, Medvedev has as good of a chance of anyone here. The 24-year-old looked pretty sharp on the hardcourt last week.

This will be just his fourth US Open and he made the fourth round at the Australian Open earlier this year.

Dominic Thiem

The Australian is part of a good crop of youth who are still waiting to break through for their first Slam success. In a slightly weakened US Open field for 2020, this is a prime opportunity.

Thiem has made a Grand Slam final in each of the last three seasons. After back to back runners-up spots at the French Open, he fell to Djokovic in this year’s Australian Open Final.

But he gave a very account of himself in that one as he pushed Djokovic to five sets in an enthralling fixture.

Thiem is a 15/2 option in 2020 US Open Tennis betting* (betting odds taken from Bet365 at 04:09 GMT on Friday, 28th August 2020).

Stefanos Tsitsipas

Another who will be happy with his work last week in New York is Greek star Stefanos Tsitsipas. He had his big career breakthrough at the 2019 Australian Open where he reached the semi-finals.

His Grand Slam efforts since then have fallen a long way short of expectations, not having been past the fourth round in any of them.

At the Western and Southern Open last week, Tsitsipas made it to the semi-finals, where they lost over three sets to Milos Raonic.

So the Greek player should be on the radar at 17/2* (betting odds taken from Bet365 at 04:09 GMT on Friday, 28th August 2020).

Others to watch:

MILOS RAONIC: We can’t ignore the threat of Canada’s Milos Raonic now after that good week in New York.

He saw off some stiff competition there, including being the one that ended Andy Murray’s run.

He wasn’t overwhelmed by Djokovic in the final either, putting up a good fight after taking the first set.

Raonic is a 20/1 option for US Open tennis betting and that’s likely to shorten quickly* (betting odds taken from Bet365 at 04:09 GMT on Friday, 28th August 2020).

ALEXANDER ZVEREV: The German still hasn’t made that breakthrough at a Grand Slam that his potential has, for so long, pointed towards.

He’s a top-ten player but Slam performances have always been below his best.

But perhaps a semi-final run earlier this year at the Australian Open signifies more to come in 2020. He gets a tough quarter against Tsiptispas.

The German was beaten by Andy Murray in three sets at the Western & Southern Open last week.

ROBERTO BAUTISTA AGUT: He is a very interesting one in the field and if there is one player who could cause a massive upset by sweeping things, then it would be Bautista Agut.

The Spaniard heads back to Flushing Meadows after a good week at the Western & Southern.

ANDY MURRAY: He was moving well through the early stages of completion last week, but then was blown away by Milos Raonic.

It’s unlikely that Murray is going to survive for two weeks to get a title.

US Open Tennis Odds – Player To Win 1st Quarter

Novak Djokovic 2/7
Denis Shapovalov 12/1
John Isner 16/1
David Goffin 16/2
20/1 bar

Well, the first quarter looks a bit of a foregone conclusion.

For anyone building a tennis acca out of the Quarters at the 2020 US Open then Djokovic is probably going to be the first name down.

He’s 2/7 odds-on to get the section win* (betting odds taken from Bet365 at 04:09 GMT on Friday, 28th August 2020).

US Open Tennis Odds – Player To Win 2nd Quarter

Stefanos Tsitsipas 6/5
Alexander Zverev 15/4
Kevin Anderson 10/1
Borna Coric 10/1
Diego Schwartzman 12/1
16/1 bar
* (betting odds taken from Bet365 at 04:09 GMT on Friday, 28th August 2020)

A fascinating quarter here with Tsitpitas and Zverev, players who have fallen considerably short in their last few respective Grand Slam efforts.

The eventual prize for winning this quarter would likely be a semi against Djokovic.

For us, Tsitsipas shades it ever so slightly at 6/5* (betting odds taken from Bet365 at 04:09 GMT on Friday, 28th August 2020).

That’s because of some decent form last week to sharpen himself up. Zverev just looks a little more fragile.

US Open Tennis Odds – Player To Win 3rd Quarter

Daniil Medvedvev 10/11
Andrey Rublev 9/2
Matteo Berrettini 11/2
Grigor Dimitrov 16/1
Ugo Humbert 18/1
20/1 bar
* (betting odds taken from Bet365 at 04:09 GMT on Friday, 28th August 2020)

Well, we expect good things overall in this 2020 US Open tennis, from Daniil Medvedev.

So we would be leaning on him to get the win in this quarter. Medvedev is the 10/11 odds-on favourite for that* (betting odds taken from Bet365 at 04:09 GMT on Friday, 28th August 2020).

The third quarter is arguably the weakest of the lot, but there are a couple of dangerous outside players like Dimitrov and Rublev.

US Open Tennis Odds – Player To Win 4th Quarter

Dominic Thiem 13/8
Milos Raonic 4/1
Roberto Bautista Agut 11/2
Andy Murray 11/1
Felix Auger Aliassime 12/1
Marin Cilic 14/1
20/1 bar

Anyone who finds themselves in the fourth quarter of the US Open 2020 is going to face a tough time. This is the section that is chock full of players who can pull off surprises.

There’s exciting young star Felix Auger Aliassime and the dangerous Bautista Agut, along with former winners Andy Murry and Marin Cilic.

Any of those could blow the section wide open.

As for the winner, we like where Milos Raonic has been heading in the last year or so and after a positive week in reaching the final of Cincy last week, we would select him at 4/1 odds* (betting odds taken from Bet365 at 04:09 GMT on Friday, 28th August 2020).

2020 US Open Tennis Odds 1st Time Winner

This is as good of a time as any for a First Time winner to come through the field. So we think it’s worth a flutter on a YES in the market at 11/10* (betting odds taken from Bet365 at 04:09 GMT on Friday, 28th August 2020).

All it’s going to take really is for one bad match from Djokovic and then this market is on.

2020 US Open Tennis Predictions

The first of our US Open Tennis picks has to be Novak Djokovic. He is the outstanding class-act in the field and the 33-year-old was in good shape last week on the blue courts.

So we can’t look past his chance here with Nadal and Federer in particular out of the way before the tournament even starts.

There is a good crop of younger players looking for their breakthrough titles, but we have to skip Tsitsipas and Zverev because they one will fall before the semi’s and there is Djokovic as a likely final four opponent.

The draw has been really kind to DANIIL MEDVEDEV so he has to be a very strong pick for the action here. He has a relatively straightforward draw ahead of him in the third quarter.

The fourth quarter is just too wide open and scrappy to call so it’s not worth immediate appeal on anyone down there.
