Seaforth & Musee D’orsay joint-favourites

Things are always interesting when there is some joint-favouritism at the head of the market. That is what we have on show for this contest with Seaforth and Musee D’orsay current 4/1 joint favourites* (betting odds taken from Bet365 at 23:34 GMT on Wednesday 1st July 2020)

SEAFORTH nailed a win on his last effort, which was his fourth success at Wolverhampton in his career.

That recent win was 11 days ago at 7f and he was just cruising along and didn’t really have to find top gear. He gets a 4lb penalty for his effort and is a leading contender in this one.

MUSEE D’ORSAY put together a good fifth place finish from a field of 12 under handicap terms last time out. That was on the all-weather at Chelmsford City just over a couple of weeks ago.

He did score in his race before that, and there is a good chance that the lightly-raced Musee D’orsay can show well here.

False ID can enjoy Wolverhampton return

Making a return to Wolverhampton where he seems to enjoy himself, is FALSE ID who is an 11/2 shot for this* (betting odds taken from Bet365 at 23:34 GMT on Wednesday 1st July 2020). It has been a long time since he has scored anywhere, but he could pose a threat in this one.

False ID has scored twice over course and distance in his career, winning three times in total at the venue. He was below par on his last effort at Thirsk 10 days ago, but should spring back into life on the Tapeta.

Can Fountain Of Life spring to success?

There was a good second place effort from FOUNTAIN OF LIFE on his reappearance. That was about three weeks ago when he battled well over a 10f distance for that at Chelmsford City.

That was a handicap and even though he is making his Tapeta debut, there could be a strong run to come from him at 5/1* (betting odds taken from Bet365 at 23:34 GMT on Wednesday 1st July 2020).

Can Vipin get into the mix?

There isn’t a lot of form beyond those we have already mentioned among the runners for this contest. VIPIN was sixth on his last start, a decent enough effort in an 8f Kempton handicap.

That was just under a couple of weeks ago and was never really well positioned to have a run at things. He could pull place claims and is a 10/1 option* (betting odds taken from Bet365 at 23:34 GMT on Wednesday 1st July 2020).

Other contenders

KYBOSH is getting the visor and the tongue strap back on after a really poor effort at Chelmsford three weeks ago. He looked all sorts of wrong on that effort, but was in decent form before that, including taking a score three races ago.

FINAL ATTACK is a previous course and distance winner. His last run was a Wolverhampton actually, a 9.5f handicap when he came home forth. He never looked like winning it and hasn’t claimed a win anywhere since 2018. Place claims may appeal however.

Predictions & Tips

The way that SEAFORTH stayed on to claim his recent win at Wolverhampton is enough for us to swing things in his favour. He is going back up on trip and has to handle a 4lb penalty.

But he looked to have plenty to spare last time out and looks to be the pick of the bunch. So he just gets the nod over MUSEE D’ORSAY who supporters are still waiting to really see a big progression from.

FALSE ID has appeal for us to shake off a below-par effort last time out. He will probably settle in much better back at Wolverhampton on his return.
