It is hard not to have avoided the snowfall across the UK on the weekend and that snow bomb has seen the chances of there being a White Christmas trimmed down to 5/6 odds at Ladbrokes.
A Ladbrokes spokesman, Alex Apati said “The snow is falling thick and fast and plenty will fancy it to stick around for the rest of the year, so we’ve been left with no option but to slash odds of exactly that happening.”
The operator has cut the odds of the UK seeing snow somewhere (anywhere) each day in the run up to Christmas and those odds have been slashed from 100/1 down to 50/1. The definition of a White Christmas us just seeing a snowflake, a single snowflake fall on a designated place in a city.
That has happened 38 times in the last 54 years, however, when it comes to there being a proper full on covering of snow over the ground, that has only happened four times in the last 51 years.
Ladbrokes also have a market available allowing punters to back options of which airports will see snow on Christmas Day.

Betfair are watching the snowfall up and down the country closely and announced that the odds are bound to fall further if the freezing weather continues its march across the UK.
Betfair spokeswoman Katie Baylis said: “With widespread snow across the country today and some of the coldest weather we’ve seen this year, the question on everyone’s lips is will we see the same come Christmas Day.
“A couple of weeks from the 25th and we have Dundee and Glasgow at 15/8 and 2/1 for a White Christmas, with Manchester at 9/4 and London now at 5/2 for snow on the big day.
“We are monitoring those long-range forecasts very closely and if this icy weather sticks around then those odds are sure to shorten dramatically.”
