The final day of Premier League betting for the season will play out on Saturday and the big issue of the day to be settled is who completes the top four.

Chelsea, Leicester and Liverpool are vying for the two remaining open spots. Of the trio, it looks as if Leicester are the ones with the most to do on Sunday.

For this Premier League betting preview we will be looking at what lies ahead on the final day of action.

We will have a preview of all the games that are happening along with football betting tips and football betting odds.

Table of Contents

Top Four Finish

Heading into the final weekend of Premier League action, Chelsea are holding down third place with 67 points.

Liverpool and Leicester are right there on 66 points each, the Reds better off in goal difference than the Foxes.

Liverpool have a home game against Crystal Palace to look forward to, while Chelsea make a trip to Aston Villa.

Leicester’s desperate search for three points and goals to boost goal difference will happen at home against Tottenham.

Aston Villa v Chelsea

A win will definitely secure Chelsea a place in the Champions League next season. They do still have this season’s Champions League Final to play against Man City.

Anyway, the Blues dug out a fantastic home win over Leicester in a crucial midweek showdown at Stamford Bridge. That was only a few days after having lost to them in the FA Cup Final.

So Chelsea are in the driving seat, but can’t be complacent away at Villa. Chelsea’s away form is sparkling though.

They are undefeated in their last eight road games, winning the last three on the spin. Earlier this season they could only manage a 1-1 home draw against Villa.

A repeat outcome may not be enough for the Blues to secure a top-four finish. There will definitely be nerves and pressure on them away from home.

Prediction: Chelsea 1 Goal Winning Margin @ 13/5

Premier League Betting Odds: Aston Villa 11/2, Draw 18/5, Chelsea 9/20

Liverpool v Crystal Palace

After such a miserable title defence, Liverpool are at least ending the season with a flourish.

It’s been a four-match winning streak from the Reds and they have scored at least two goals in each of those.

The last three were all away from home as well. On paper, they have a winnable match on the final day of the season against Palace.

As long as nerves don’t play a part, it’s hard to see Liverpool not getting the win. After a run of six straight home league defeats, Liverpool are W2 D1 in their last three at Anfield.

Palace have lost five of their last seven fixtures (W2) and earlier this season were smashed 7-0 at Selhurst Park by Liverpool.

They don’t look likely to deny the Reds in what will be Roy Hodgson’s final game in charge of the Eagles.

Prediction: Liverpool To Win To Nil @ 10/11

Premier League Betting Odds: Liverpool 1/7, Draw 15/2, Crystal Palace 14/1

Leicester v Tottenham

Last season Leicester had a poor end-of-season run in and it cost them a place in the Champions League. History looks as if it could be repeating itself.

After looking in such a strong position, the Foxes fell out of the top four in midweek as Liverpool caught up with them.

The door is still open for Leicester. But really they need other results to go their way on Sunday.

The Foxes are level on points with Liverpool but are four goals worse off than the Reds are in goal difference.

Of the three teams fighting for the top four in the final round of Premier League betting, Leicester have the toughest final game as well.

Theya host Tottenham who are going to turn up at the King Power fully motivated. Spurs are 7th, three points behind 6th-placed West Ham.

They are level on points with Everton but hold a massive goal difference advantage over the Toffees.

Spurs, therefore, need to match Everton’s results to have a shot at European action next season.

Leicester have lost 6 of 9 home games this season against current top-11 sides. This is no easy one for them.

Prediction: Draw @ 3/1

Premier League Betting Odds: Leicester Evens, Draw 3/1, Tottenham 23/10

The chase for Europa League and Europa Conference League places

There is a new tournament coming up next season from UEFA, the Europa Conference League.

That will be the third tier of competition behind the Champions League and Europa League.

5th and 6th place in the Premier League this season will go to the Europa League, because of Leicester winning the FA Cup and not finishing lower than 5th in the EPL.

The 7th place finisher goes to the Europa Conference League.

West Ham are 6th with a 3-point advantage over both Tottenham and Everton.

West Ham’s goal difference is better than Everton’s, but not Tottenham’s. Tottenham’s is superior to Everton’s.

Spurs are holding that 7th place position in the Premier League, with Everton right behind them on the same points.

Arsenal still have a slim chance at the Europa Conference League, but would need to better Tottenham and Everton’s results.

Premier League Race For Europe (points and goal difference)

  • 6th West Ham 62 pts GD 12
  • 7th Tottenham 59 pts, GD 21
  • 8th Everton 59 pts GD 4
  • 9th Arsenal 58 pts GD 14
  • 10th Leeds 56 pts GD 6

West Ham v Southampton

The Hammers should be fired up in front of home fans for their final game of the season.

Their shot at the top four has gone, but still, a top-six finish would be a huge accomplishment for David Moyes’ men.

West Ham host Southampton on the final day of the season and have a good chance of banking three points.

A point would actually be enough to see them take 6th place and get their spot in the Europa League.

West Ham’s end of season form fell away, losing three of their last six (W2 D1) which cost them their chance at the Champions League.

Their home form hasn’t been great but they are facing a Southampton team to have lost 9 of their last 10 away games in the top flight.

Prediction: West Ham to win

Premier League Betting Odds: West Ham 7/10, Draw 29/10, Southampton 15/4

Man City v Everton

Not the game that Everton would have wanted to end the season with, even though it is against a ham Man City side who have already been crowned champions.

City did lose in midweek against Brighton and that’s two losses in their last three league games.

But the same intensity isn’t there in their game of course. They have the title in hand and have to look forward to the Champions League final against Chelsea.

Will that let Everton take their chance at the Etihad?

Everton have won two of their last three on the road and have earned a superb W11 D4 L3 road record this season.

The Toffees have four clean sheets in their last four away games. But still, it’s a trip to Man City and that’s never easy.

The Citizens will be in a party mood at home in front of fans.

Prediction: Man City to win & BTTS

Premier League Betting Odds: Man City 2/5, Draw 17/4, Everton 6/1
* (betting odds recorded 19:46 GMT on May 20th 2021 at Bet365)

Arsenal v Brighton

Arsenal have a shot at the Europa Conference league. The Gunners have to go out and beat Brighton for starters on Saturday.

That’s because they are 7 goals worse off in goal difference to Tottenham and a draw wouldn’t be enough.

So along with that victory, Arsenal would have to hope that neither Tottenham nor Everton win the weekend as well.

For reference, Tottenham are at Leicester and Everton are at Man City. So there is a window for Arsenal who have found some form.

The Gunners are on a four-match winning streak at the moment.

Brighton turned around a deficit to beat Man City 3-2 at home in midweek. That was a great performance, pumped up by the return of fans.

The Seagulls are safe from the drop and may not be too dialled in for their trip to North London.

Prediction: Arsenal to win

Premier League Betting Odds: Arsenal 3/5, Draw 16/5, Brighton 17/4
* (betting odds recorded 19:46 GMT on May 20th 2021 at Bet365)

Leeds v West Brom

It has been such a successful return to the top flight for Leeds. Mathematically they can still get to 7th place, the Europa Conference League spot.

But that’s all too unlikely because along with results going their way, Leeds would have to have a massive swing in goal difference. That’s just improbable.

Nevertheless, they are in great shape on a three-match winning streak.

Leeds have already secured a top-ten finish and we would expect them to finish in style at Elland road against the regulated West Brom.

The Baggies, not helped with poor luck, are on a three-match losing streak.

Prediction: Leeds to win

Premier League Betting Odds: Leeds 4/9, Draw 4/1, West Brom 11/1

The Rest Of The Fixtures for Premier League Betting

There’s nothing at stake anywhere else in the remaining fixtures for Premier League betting on Sunday. But we have a look at the games anyway for football betting.

Fulham v Newcastle

The Cottagers battled to a good point against Manchester United in midweek. It has now been just two points returned for Fulham in their last nine league games.

It’s been five straight home defeats for them. Newcastle have won three of their last six in contrast and look the likelier of the two to win.

Prediction: Newcastle to win

Premier League Betting Odds: Fulham 11/10, Draw 14/5, Newcastle 11/5
* (betting odds recorded 19:46 GMT on May 20th 2021 at Bet365)

Sheffield United v Burnley

This should be a good old tussle between two teams who have both posted a W2 L4 record in the last six league games.

Sheffield United are W 4 D1 L13 at home this season and lost 2-0 against Palace in their last home fixture.

Burnley’s last two league wins have been away from home against Fulham and Brighton. They could sneak it.

Prediction: Burnley to win at 7/5

Premier League Betting Odds: Sheffield United 9/5, Draw 13/5, Burnley 7/5
* (betting odds recorded 19:46 GMT on May 20th 2021 at Bet365)

Wolves v Man Utd

There’s no drama on the table for either of these on the final day of the season. Wolves have lost their last two against Spurs and Everton, a lack of scoring threat really hindering them.

Manchester United have really gone off the boil with one win in their last five league fixtures (D2 L2). They will probably have one eye on their Europa League Final.

Prediction: Draw

Premier League Betting Odds: Wolves 29/20 Draw 13/5, Man Utd 17/10
