The home side will be hoping that Thursday’s exciting win over Lazio in the Europa League will have sapped some energy from Celtic legs. But the Hoops have won six of their seven matches in the league immediately after a European game this season so that looks a forlorn hope.
McInnes acknowledges that his team will need to match Celtic’s energy to get a result but they are strong at Pittodrie and are unbeaten in the league at home this season. They need to start turning draws into wins, however, if they are to make ground on the leading clubs.
Sam Cosgrove has scored five in five and has become hot property as the lone striker for Aberdeen so he will require close attention from the visitors.

Neil Lennon’s side will be without Ryan Christie for the visit to Pittodrie.
Christie was sent off in the shock defeat to Livingston and is still suspended but Lennon has plenty of options with the biggest squad in Scottish football.

The manager will probably ring the changes again for this one but will retain the core of the side that has served him so well this term, with Scott Brown at the heart of the midfield alongside Callum McGregor.
