It looks as if Diego Costa’s Chelsea career is done and dusted with reports that he has been told that he is surplus to requirements next season at the Bridge. There has been a butting of heads brewing between him and boss Antonio Conte for some time and now it look as if he will be looking for a new club for next season.
His preferred choice would be former club Atletico Madrid, however, they have a transfer ban which would mean that Costa would have to miss several months of action before linking up with them. Their ban is lifted in January. They can still sign players but have to park them elsewhere on loan detail until the player can be registered when the ban is lifted.

He went to Milan before re-joining with his former club Atletico so there are similarities there. There was much speculation earlier in the year that he had been offered a big-money deal to go there, which seemed to cause a rift with Conte.
Costa is 5/1 to stay at Chelsea. So with the impending departure of the Spaniard, it just raises stock that Chelsea are going after Romelu Lukaku from Everton.
