We look at all of that and more in our Aintree racing tips and odds preview.

FAKIR D’OUDAIRIES is the first name on the shortlist for March Chase tips on Friday.

He was the winner of last year’s renewal at Aintree, albeit with no Allaho present to a showdown with him.

Fakir D’oudairies has continued to look every part the high-class chaser this season.

Among his successes, this season was the Grade 1 Ascot Chase in February.

With current form still on his side, then Fakir D’oudairies looks to be the one to beat, even in this strong field.

SCEAU ROYAL is the next on the shortlist even though he takes on this distance for the first time in his career.

He is not without a chance, however, as there was a couple of victories recorded by the 10-year-old earlier this season.

With no Cheltenham Festival appearance taking anything out of him, Sceau Royal is refreshed and only found Funambule Sivola too good in the Game Spirit Chase on his latest.

MISTER FISHER gets the nod as the final selection was impressive in landing the Silviniaco Conti Chase at Kempton in January.

His follow up in the Ascot Chase didn’t pan out, but he was excused there because of the condition underfoot.

Mister Fisher sometimes forgets to bring his best jumping game to the party but looks as if he could get there with a clean round.

Tip: FAKIR D’OUDAIRIES 11/8

Ones to watch: Mister Fisher 11/1, Sceau Royal 14/1

The Topham Handicap Chase is hosted on the National Course at Aintree and boasts a huge field of 30 declared runners.

ROYAL RENDEZVOUS is the first on the shortlist after opening the season with a straight hat-trick of successes.

He then faced the high-class Fakir D’oudairies at Clonmel and only that rival was too good on his latest run. Royal Rendezvous is thriving and is nicely refreshed for this.

SENIOR CITIZEN has big claims and he was a third-place finish in last year’s event.

He can’t be dismissed and notched up an excellent win at Market Rasen in October.

After a long break Senior Citizen was third at Newbury a month ago, so should strip fitter.

MISTER COFFEY has finished as runner up in his last three efforts and is still striving to get off the mark over the fences.

The form has been there however and he was excellent in the Kim Muir at the Cheltenham Festival, taking a runner up spot after being hampered badly.

SPIRITOFTHEGAMES completes the shorts as he arrives on a good mark, the same as he was for his Cheltenham Festival run.

He was ridden patiently in the Plate at the Festival three weeks ago and took a credible third.

It’s something to kick on from and he is a good competitive handicapper.

Tip: SENIOR CITIZEN 12/1

Ones to watch: Mister Coffey 8/1, Royal Rendezvous 14/1, Spirit Of The Games 16/1

LANGER DAN was the favourite for his latest run, seeking a defence in the Marin Pipe at the Cheltenham Festival.

He never had a chance though as he was brought down at the second. Langer Dan is worth another look.

HIGHWAY ONE O TWO was the runner up in last year’s renewal of this contest so warrants respect on the shortlist.

He comes from a yard that is in superb form at the moment.

Highway One O Two’s second-place finish in last year’s renewal was from a higher mark too.

COBBLER’S DREAM is a good consistent one and has continued to show some wonderful form.

With an easy Lanzarote Hurdles win and place finish at the Cheltenham Festival in the Martin Pipe, Cobbler’s Dream rates as a danger.

BALCO COASTAL is the final one for the shortlist and needs a little response to being pulled up in the Imperial Cup at Sandown on his latest.

He was going well enough there until his run ended early with the ground, not in his favour.

Balco Coastal was in superb seasonal form before that.

SPEECH BUBBLE is another with claims that just can’t be informed in this deep contest.

She was last seen taking second to Love Envoi (a subsequent Cheltenham Festival winner) in a Grade 2 at Sandown.

Speech Bubble’s opening mark for this contest looks to give her a big chance of making an impression.

Tip: COBBLER’s Dream 8/1

Ones to watch: Balco Coastal 10/1, Highway One O Two 12/1, Speech Bubble 6/1, Langer Dan 3/1

JON BON is the clear favourite for this novice hurdle and he looks to have big things ahead of him.

He lost nothing with his second-place finish to Constitution Hill in the Supreme Novices at the Cheltenham Festival recently.

That saw Jonbon’s unbeaten run come to end at five, but should stroll this as it is a much easier contest.

EL FABIOLO is worth a look in this grade as he gets the hood on for the first time.

He made a promising debut and then scored an excellent win in the maiden hurdle in Ireland at the start of the year.

That was the first run by him for Willie Mullins, so more is expected from El Fabiolo.

FIRST STREET has been in great form this season, winning three of his last six efforts.

With a third-place finish in the Betfair Hurdle on his penultimate run raising his stock, he further enhanced his profile with a runner up in the County Handicap Hurdle at the Festival.

Tip: JONBON 11/10

Ones to watch: First Street 4/1, El Fabiolo 7/2

L’HOMME PRESSE will be tested in this small, but absolutely high-class field at Aintree on Friday.

He has continued to thrive over the fences, with all five efforts this season when landing the Brown Advisory at the Festival.

That was ahead of Ahoy Senor who he will be up against in this.

L’Homme Presse is as smooth as you like over the fences and has massive ability.

BRAVEMANSGAME moves up to Grade 1 and looks firmly like he belongs at this level.

It’s been four wins from four over the fences this season, having taken to the bigger stuff with ease.

Bravemansgame is refreshed not having run at Cheltenham because of the ground.

AHOY SENOR has a high ceiling but just looks like he needs to tighten up his jumping a little bit.

There was a Grade 2 success by him at the start of the season and won last year’s Grade 1 Sefton at Aintree.

He has been beaten by both Bravemnsgame and L’Homme Presse in two of his last three runs, but Ahoy Senor is a hot one.

FURY ROAD isn’t just making up the numbers here as he will probably give a good account of himself.

There was a Grade 1 novices win for him on his penultimate run, which was in December.

He had an off day at the same venue on his follow up but has been refreshed for the last couple of months.

Tip: L’HOMME PRESSE 11/8

Ones to watch: Bravemans Game 11/8, Ahoy Senor 11/2

BANBRIDGE is a top selection in this one as he looks to complete a hattrick.

There was a win for Banbridge at the Martin Pipe at this year’s Cheltenham Festival.

That was just his second handicap appearance and in many ways, this field looks weaker than that.

GELINO BELLO is a likeable one and got off the market at the first time of asking over the hurdles.

That debut over the timbers saw him score here at Aintree in October and he doubled his tally with a novice company score at Newbury last month.

The extra distance gives him a big chance.

SKYTASTIC is unbeaten and could make his presence felt in this one. He showed a good attitude last time out.

He was last seen at Ascot in February when he had to fight all the way to maintain his record.

There’s more to come from him, especially on a longer trip.

Tip: GELINO BELLO 6/1

Ones to watch: Banbridge 5/2, SKytatic 6/1

RICHMOND LAKE is the first on the shortlist after going well for a long way at Kelso last time out.

He fell late in the race, but overall there have been some excellent pieces of form from him. Like a runner up to Jonbon on his penultimate fixture.

LIVELY CITIZEN can’t be dismissed in this one as he has quietly put together a very strong campaign.

His second-place finish at the Imperial Cup at Sandown on his latest run, saw him take the form to a new level. Lively Citizen is likeable and consistent.

WHIZZ KID looks to have been given a big chance by the assessor with wins in novice hurdles.

Those were by a wide margin as well and there’s no reason why he can’t get in this. His yard is in top form at the moment as well.

Tip: LIVELY CITIZEN 8/1

Ones to watch: Whizz Kid 7/2, Richmond Lake 9/1
