Paddy Power announced this week that they had received a flurry of large bets on Antonio Conte taking over from Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford. There has been pressure mounting on Mourinho after a summer of grumbling from him and their shock loss out at Brighton in just their second league game of the season.

Conte meanwhile is out of work after having left Chelsea late in the summer and he has been backed into the 5/1 second favourite at Paddy Power to take over at Manchester United* (betting odds taken on August 23rd, 2018 at 8:36 pm). That is a price cut down from 14/1 odds so it’s been a big market mover.
That puts him ahead of the likes of Carlo Ancelotti, Ryan Giggs and Mauricio Pochettino for the Old Trafford hot seat when Mourinho goes. Former Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane is still the favourite to be the one the club turns to next.
