Arsenal v Brighton Betting Tips – Premier League, 5th May 4.30pm

Arsenal have to at least match whatever it is that Chelsea produce this weekend in order to get themselves a chance on the final weekend of the season to take a top-four finish. They have to shake off some recent poor form to get that completed though. Brighton still aren’t mathematically safe, but they hold a four-point cushion above the drop zone. Arsenal News and Form

Can Arsenal dust themselves down, shake off some poor league form and keep their hopes of a top-four finish alive this weekend? The Gunners have fallen into a pretty big slump with a three-match losing streak going in the EPL. They conceded exactly three-goal in each of those losses as well, which were against Crystal Palace, Wolves and Leicester. Their last home game saw them go down against Palace, but Arsenal had been in tremendous shape at the Emirates prior to that 2-3 reverse. The defeat against the Eagles snapped a ten-match winning streak of home form that Arsenal had been on. Overall this season Arsenal have produced a W14 D2 L2 record on home soil in the top flight.

They have won eight of their nine games against teams currently in the bottom half of the table (the one exception the game against Crystal Palace). Their goal scoring output has been high, the Gunners averaging 2.3 goals per home game. While it has been all over the place recently, their defence this season has not done too badly. They have earned a clean sheet in almost 40% of home fixtures. Of their fourteen home successes this season, 12 of them have been by a margin of at least two goals. The Gunners are on a seventeen match scoring streak at home at the moment, netting at least two goals in each of their last nine at the Emirates.

Arsenal v Brighton Head to Head

Arsenal were held to a 1-1 draw at Brighton earlier this season
The Seagulls are undefeated in their last two against the Gunners
Arsenal are W12 D3 L3 in the overall head to head against the Seagulls
Both teams have scored in six of the last seven meetings

Key-Facts – Arsenal v Brighton

  • Arsenal have won ten of their last eleven league home games
  • The Gunners average over two goals per home fixture
  • Brighton have scored one goal in their last seven EPL fixtures

Brighton News and Form

Brighton are not mathematically safe. It is four-point cushion over Cardiff which they have plus the extra factor of dominating the Bluebirds in the goal difference area as well. Will, that come into play at the end of the day? This is a tough finish for Brighton because after making this trip to North London, they will finish the season back on the south coast at home against Manchester City. They can’t exactly bank on points coming from these two remaining fixtures. All that Brighton have to do this weekend is at least match whatever result that Cardiff come up with, so they will preserve their top-flight status. So it’s going to be all hands to the pump at the Emirates for them. Brighton have taken just the two points from their last seven league games though so are in bad shape.

They have scored one goal in their last seven league fixtures. The Seagulls have posted an away record of W3 D3 L12 this season scoring just the fifteen league goals away from the Amex. To their credit they almost got a point against Spurs in their last away game, conceding the only goal of the game just two minutes from time. The Seagulls have taken one point from their last three games out on the road and they have picked up a clean sheet in just 11% of away games. Of their away defeats, six of the twelve have been by a margin at least a two-goal margin. Only the current bottom three have worse away records than that of Brighton. The Seagulls have lost found themselves losing at half time in exactly half of their home games. They have failed to hit the back of the net in any of their last three on the road.

Arsenal v Brighton Tips & Odds

Arsenal v Brighton Predictions

Arsenal to win: The Gunners look the likely winners here. However, they had that extra Europa League work on Thursday and haven’t been great at the back recently. Brighton do have to push here, so the home win & both teams to score option looks a pretty decent proposition for this Emirates clash.
