It has been a pretty rough ride this season for Arsene Wenger at Arsenal. The Frenchman has endured some pretty harsh criticism after deciding to stay on in the job. Arsenal churned out a shockingly poor performance at Wembley last weekend as they were torn apart by Manchester City in the EFL Cup final, the performance (or lack thereof) heaping more pressure on Wenger than the actual result.

That leaves the Gunners with only the Europa League as potential silverware to be won for the season now. The Gunners crashed out of the FA Cup in the third round against Championship side Nottingham Forest and they are well out of the picture for a top-five finish in the Premier League this season as well, largely thanks to a pretty terrible season away from the Emirates.

The days of Wenger’s tenure really at Arsenal really look over now and punters at Ladbrokes have been piling into him to not be in charge of Arsenal on the opening day of next season. Wenger is currently at 5/6 odds* (Betting Odds taken at 7:01 p.m. on February 20th, 2018) to leave the club before then.

The Gunners have a tough time coming up against AC Milan in the round of sixteen in the Europa League and the Premier League side are 5/1 odds* (Betting Odds taken at 6:26 p.m. on February 20th, 2018) to go all the way and land the trophy. While back in the Premier League they are a huge 18/1 option* (Betting Odds taken at 7:01 p.m. on February 20th, 2018) to land a top-four finish in the league.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “Things aren’t looking good for Wenger if the betting figures are anything to go by. So few punters are confident of his side enjoying any success this year that his exit is the most popular Gunners bet of the year to date.”

Arsenal Odds at Ladbrokes*

Arsene Wenger to leave Arsenal before opening day of next season – 5/6

Arsenal to win the Europa League – 5/1

After announcing in the Sky Sports studio that he would be interested in the Arsenal job one day, punters have been all over Thierry Henry becoming the next Arsenal manager. After the weekend, odds on Henry becoming the next Arsenal manager were slashed into 14/1 from 33/1 immediately after the EFL Cup Final. More established names of Carlo Ancelotti, Joachim Loew and Thomas Tuchel are in the market as well.
