We take a look at his chances and of all the key players in this contest, in our Ascot King’s Stand Stakes racing odds preview.

Battaash the 2/1 FAV in King’s Stand Stakes

There was a victory for BATTAASH in last year’s King’s Stand Stakes at Royal Ascot. He is back for another crack twelve months on.

For this year’s renewal, there is a quote of 2/1 on the win for BATTAASH* (odds recorded at 21:09 GMT on April 27th, 2021 at William Hill).

He is coming back fresh but that is something that has not stopped him before. Last year’s win at Royal Ascot was on his reappearance.

Following that opener for the previous campaign, Battaash also went on to claim the King George at Goodwood and then the Nunthorpe at York as well.

So it was another impressive and profitable campaign from the 7-year-old and looks to be the one to beat.

He dominated this race twelve months ago to finally make that breakthrough at Royal Ascot. There’s a fair chance that he delivers once again.

Can Winter Power raise a big enough effort?

One of the principal threats to BATTAASH in the Ascot King’s Stand Stakes is WINTER POWER.

The filly made a huge impact on her reappearance run for Tim Easterby. That was at York and it was an astounding performance from her to get the win.

The 3-year-old improved massively to dominate that race from the front in a Listed fixture at the venue on a 5f trip.

She got the win by three lengths and it also completed a hattrick for her, showing good versatility to get that on differing grounds.

It says a lot about her that she is a strong 9/2 quote in Queen Anne Stakes racing odds* (odds recorded at 21:09 GMT on April 27th, 2021 at William Hill).

Winter Power commands a lot of respect for the contest and stays with the tongue-tie that helped her at York.

One of her wins was at Group 3, can she take this upward swing of form to a whole new level?

Que Amoro to challenge for the places

Another that commands some respect for this contest is QUE AMORO from a quote of 14/1* (odds recorded at 21:09 GMT on April 27th, 2021 at William Hill).

There was massive progress from her last season and in one of her efforts she went up against Battaash in the Nunthorpe.

Que Amoro took second place in that York contest and therefore has a chance of getting back in the mix of things, this time as an easy way option.

She may be able to handle herself coming back fresh. Que Amoro scored in a listed contest on her 2000 reappearance, so there are reasonable claims.

Form is on the side of Extravagant Kid

Big things are expected of EXTRAVAGANT KID who has been trimmed into the current 5/1 second-favourite in King’s Stand Stakes odds* (odds recorded at 21:09 GMT on April 27th, 2021 at William Hill).

He has been on the up with his form and is a good reliable sprinter. Back in March, he hit the pinnacle of his career to claim a win in a Meydan Group 1.

That puts him on the radar for this one and he has the experienced hand of Frankie Dettori to help out as well.

Extravagant Kid returns after an 80-day break but has some potential here. There is a further need for progress if he is going to follow up on that Meydan score.

Place claims are more than reasonable for Tuesday’s effort from him.

Maven may have a say

Back in April, there was an impressive win for MAVEN at Keeneland, which was a very good warm-up for him ahead of Royal Ascot.

That win at Keeneland was over a 5f trip by more than a couple of lengths and has plenty of winning experience up to this distance.

Maven is a good bold front runner and the field will be under pressure if they let him get an easy front-running position in the King’s Stand.

There is plenty of intrigue there for Maven, especially coming from a yard that does so well at Ascot.

Maven is a quote of 14/1 in Ascot King’s Stand Stakes racing odds* (odds recorded at 21:09 GMT on April 27th, 2021 at William Hill).

Others to note

HARRY’S BAR has proven that he can be effective on the turf after a second-place finishes on a god at Nass last time out. It’s questionable whether he can take a very strong all-weather form forward to win this. He is not without place claims though.

KING’S LYNN steps up to Group 1 looking for a further step forward. This is going to be a big challenge for him, will he handle it? He does look to have potential on his side after winning at Haydock in a listed effort a couple of weeks ago.

OXTED was red hot last summer but hasn’t been quite able to get himself going in 2021. He claimed the July Cup at Newmarket last year. Oxted was last seen in the Duke of York, finishing a distant third there. A switch down to the 5f trip may help.

LIBERTY BEACH may be able to follow up a recent strong run at Haydock with another strong effort. Race experience is there as she was third in the King’s Stand twelve months ago. She’s a great worker and won the Temple at Haydock three weeks ago on her reappearance.

Predictions & Tips for Ascot King’s Stand Stakes Racing Odds

Right at the top of the market, we expect last year’s winner BATTAASH to get close to another success here.

The 2/1 FAV in King’s Stand Stakes odds performs well fresh and should be well-primed for this one* (odds recorded at 21:09 GMT on April 27th, 2021 at William Hill).

Another to watch for the contest is LIBERTY BEACH who went very well in this fixture last year.

She was also strong in the Abbaye last year as well so we think there are good claims there from 10/1* (odds recorded at 21:09 GMT on April 27th, 2021 at William Hill).

Our interest is piqued on QUE AMORO as well as she is another performer who goes well fresh.

She was massively on the up in the last campaign and it will be interesting to see if she kicks on now in this company from 14/1* (odds recorded at 21:09 GMT on April 27th, 2021 at William Hill).
