Race Favourite

The race favourite for this Ascot handicap is MAGIC J at 3/1* (betting odds taken from Bet365 at 20:59 GMT on Friday, 24th July 2020). The form is there to warrant him going to the start as one of the main contenders.

The unexposed 4 year old won a 5f trip at Sandown 10 days ago. He is going up 8lb for this one and he still warrants plenty of merit in this contest.

Magic J got the best out of the cheek pieces for the first time last time out and he stays with them.

Ascot Racing Odds Tips

MOUNTAIN PEAK may have some good claims here as he stays at the same mark. He is right in form at the moment as two races ago he scored a 5f success at Haydock.

Over course and distance a fortnight ago he went up 7lb and took second place from a big field of 18. Has the potential to score a good win here.

The unexploded BOMB PROOF is massively interesting as well for this fixture. He scored a fantastic York success on his debut.

That was a valuable contest as well. Just over a month ago he was back in action for his second racetrack appearance and won again, that time at Beverley. Huge potential.

Lining up at the head of the market for this run is COUNTRY at 5/2* (betting odds taken from Bet365 at 20:59 GMT on Friday, 24th July 2020). His form since a return to action has been very good.

He took third place on his reappearance and then went better to score from a 5/1 SP at Newmarket at this distance. He cruised to almost a two-length victory in that one.

Country takes on an extra 4lb now for this one, but he has some big claims and can’t be overlooked.

Ascot Racing Odds Tips

The experienced ALMANIA poses a threat in the contest as well. On his return to action he was third in a field of sixteen, which was at Ascot last month.

That was a longer trip that Almania went in there at 1m 6f. He has Ryan Moore booked for this contest.

The other horse from this field that looks as if he could pull seriously into contention is SAM COOKE. He was in great form last season and made a fairy positive return with a gutsy 5th place finish in a field of 13 at Newmarket.

That was at a couple of furlongs further than this and he had been the 7/2FAV for that. A drop back in the trip could sharpen him up.

This is a very interesting market and BILLESDON BROOK currently heads it at 11/4 so things are tight with Miss O’Connor right behind* (betting odds taken from Bet365 at 20:59 GMT on Friday, 24th July 2020).

It has been three runners-up places in her last four races for Billesdon Brook who is just seeking that little bit extra.

But she was last seen at the Group 1 Tattersalls Falmouth Stakes on a 1m trip (soft going) earlier this month.

She ran well there, shaping well as she generally tends to do and took that runner up spot.

She was only edge out by a neck and keeps rattling the crossbar so surely something has to give soon. Billesdon Brook is a leading contender.

Ascot Racing Odds Tips

MISS O’CONNOR looks as if she could give the favourite a run for her money. This is a supremely exciting 5 year old who has won all four of her starts.

After a 77 day break she returned to action at Saint-Cloud in a mile trip and claimed the win by a furlong.

That’s the narrowest margin of success that she has taken. It’s hard to imagine her not being in the frame.

Going back to the Group 1 Tattersalls Falmouth Stakes for some form, AGINCOURT pulls some appeal.

She was fifth there and just before that she had gone to Royal Ascot in the Duke Of Cambridge where she only just missed out. Agincourt would need a career best for a win, but the place claims are easily there.

Race Type: Princess Margaret Stakes Fillies Group 3 Class 1

Declared Runners: 7

Race Favourite

This is a good look at some future talent as the fillies line up for a warm contest. At the head of the market there is MORE BEAUTIFUL at 5/4* (betting odds taken from Bet365 at 20:59 GMT on Friday, 24th July 2020).

She is quite a strong favourite here and she scored right out of the gate on her debut in a maiden.

She put in a decent performance at the Queen Mary Stakes at Royal Ascot top up at Group 2, finishing in the middle of a pack of 18.

More Beautiful has big claims in this one back down in class, but she had been the favourite for that Queen Mary effort and just lacked the pace on the day to stay in touch and mount a challenge.

Ascot Racing Odds Tips

CAROLINE DALE finished ahead of More Beautiful at Royal Ascot’s Queen Mary. She took third there, three and a quarter lengths back of the winner Campanelle.

So Caroline Dale definitely warrants respect here. She followed that by breaking her maiden at Windsor on a 5f trip in early July.

There is plenty to like about her from 3/1* (betting odds taken from Bet365 at 20:59 GMT on Friday, 24th July 2020).

SANTOSHA is very interesting as well, who is a stablemate of Caroline Dale. She was a massive longshot out at 50/1 SP for the Group 2 Duchess Of Cambridge at Royal Ascot.

But she outran those odds easily to claim third place. That was after scoring on her debut and back down a furlong, there has to be claims.

CAMPARI is the 3/1 market leader, but this looks as if it will be a competitive handicap* (betting odds taken from Bet365 at 20:59 GMT on Friday, 24th July 2020).

There has been solid form from Campari since his return to action.

He took a score on his reappearance in a Chepstow maiden at 1m. He only narrowly missed out then as he came close in a 7f Sandown handicap.

That was a significant step forward in progressive form from him and he has claims.

Ascot Racing Odds Tips

TIGER CRUSADE comes up 6lb here and that is because he has shown some brilliant form. He followed up on his first win when he scored at 7f at Doncaster on his reappearance.

That was three weeks ago and the form is rocketing up. He has to be a major player in this handicap from 10/3* (betting odds taken from Bet365 at 20:59 GMT on Friday, 24th July 2020).

We are also going to lean towards ROCKY BOY GREY to come up with something. He has been nice and consistent and a recent second place at Newbury over 6f gives him some claims.

Rocky Boy Grey was only edged by a neck in that contest but he had plenty in the tank at the finish in terms of power.
