Race Favourite

The race favorite, and a commanding one at that, is DAAHYEH at 9/4* (betting odds taken from William Hill at 23:37 GMT on Sunday, 9th August 2020).

It was a brilliant campaign from her as a two year old and one of her wins was at Royal Ascot.

The last run she had as a juvenile was in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf at Santa Anita in the USA and she was runner up there.

It’s an eleven month absence that she will be defying, but she’s a quality pick all the way.

If she is anywhere near her juvenile level then she is going to be really hard to take down on her reappearance. She’s our pick.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

We would consider ONASSIS as well for this one after taking a fourth place in the Sceptre Stakes at Doncaster (Group 3) last time out.

The two that she sandwiched in that contest recently scrapped it out for a listed win at Newmarket last week, franking that form of Onassis a bit.

DOUBLE OR BUBBLE looks like a useful runner and has scored back to back wins on her reappearance.

The biggest impression that she made out of those two victories was a course and distance win on her handicap debut. That was a warm contest as well and she is one for the shortlist.

Race Favourite

This is a top sprint and last year’s winner DAKOTA GOLD is back in the frame for the second year running.

He is the 4/1 favourite for the contest and obviously warrants a good look* (betting odds taken from William Hill at 23:37 GMT on Sunday, 9th August 2020).

He scored at Leicester in August but he looked just a tad below his best when he turned out at Doncaster recently.

That was in a listed run where Dakota Gold could do no better than third. But still, overall his current form isn’t bad and he was a five-time winner in 2019.

It will be MAID IN INDIA who goes as our pick for the race however at a 5/1 quote* (betting odds taken from William Hill at 23:37 GMT on Sunday, 9th August 2020).

She is taking a significant drop in grade here and that means she is going to be a key challenger. She recently battled well and was a close fourth in the Flying Five at the Curragh.

The other stand out pick for this race is ALJADY who is bang in form at the moment. He’s a good sprinter and has taken four wins in six efforts since switching yards.

Aljady will be looking to secure a hattrick by landing the win in this one. His last run was 11 days ago, scoring at Beverley.

Race Favourite

The odds-on favourite for this race is LOGICIAN 4/6* (betting odds taken from William Hill at 23:37 GMT on Sunday, 9th August 2020).

It has been exceptional form from him, winning all five runs last year. The pinnacle of that was landing the St Leger.

He opened his season account by winning at Doncaster, which was only a 2-runner fixture recently.

But it is such a wonderful unbeaten record that he has, he sets the standard in this one. More progress can be expected of him still and he has to be our pick.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

MORANDO can probably go well enough to get himself into the money places in this one. He was last year’s winner of this race and so has that track record behind him.

He recently hit the best form since his reappearance by taking a second place finish in a listed run at Chester.

The other pick to fill the places would be HIGHLAND CHIEF who has come close in his last couple of Group contests.

On his reappearance this season he defied top weight to score at Royal Ascot, and while didn’t show at all in the Derby, that can be excused because of his much improved following form.

Race Favourite

The market leader for this Heritage Handicap is RIVER NYMPH at 5/1* (betting odds taken from William Hill at 23:37 GMT on Sunday, 9th August 2020).

He is sitting on a hattrick so there are no question marks over his current form.

The first of those wins was a course and distance effort before a great turn of speed got him a follow up at Newbury.

He has gone up 11lb in the ratings now, but still he warrants some big respect. The upward curve is pretty steep for him at the moment and he is one for the shortlist.

KYNREN has what it takes to get himself in the frame and he has a proven track record as he was last year’s winner of this race.

This will be just his second run back since a wind operation, but he looked in good shape recording a fifth place in the Ayr Gold Cup on his last effort. Place claims are certainly there.

Entering the calculations is KING OTTOKAR as well and he is back in some good form. Three weeks ago he was last in action when he was fifth of 12 on a 1m trip.

He just had a little too much to do at the end of the race there, so the drop in trip will probably see him right back in the wheelhouse.

CAPE BYRON is the 5/2 outright favourite for this run* (betting odds taken from William Hill at 23:37 GMT on Sunday, 9th August 2020).

This will be his first run for almost a year. He won this fixture last October but then put in a poor effort in that final effort of the season.

But he has a record of coming back and delivering the good refreshed so the break shouldn’t be that much of an issue for him.

He generally shows well at Ascot, but this is a very competitive race and not having had a chance to get some air in his lungs could work against him.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

THE TIN MAN is the pick for us in this one and he showed that he is still competitive when he scored a win at Newbury at this level in July.

His last run was the Sprint Cup and he took a sixth place finish in that one, holding well there without looking like winning.

But he is coming down in class and that makes him a threat to go well again and get a 7/2 score* (betting odds taken from William Hill at 23:37 GMT on Sunday, 9th August 2020).

The other name on the list for this one could be SNAZZY JAZZY who landed a success in June in a listed race.

That was in a listed race and it proved that he still has it in him. It wasn’t the greatest of runs that he had last time however, taking fifth in Newbury in July.

He will get the cheek pieces on for the first time in order to try and sharpen him up.

This spring is the final actin for our Ascot racing preview for Saturday. It is ARECIBO who is the 9/2 favourite for the contest* (betting odds taken from William Hill at 23:37 GMT on Sunday, 9th August 2020).

He is a good consistent horse and he put in another of his sturdy runs to take seventh place in the recent Ayr Gold Cup.

He doesn’t have a great strike record in Britain however, so there may be some value in looking beyond him in this big field.

We are going to do just that with EQUITATION at 14/1 e/w* (betting odds taken from William Hill at 23:37 GMT on Sunday, 9th August 2020).

He had a very good run here over course and distance in July.

Last year he also won at this very mark at Ascot. It hasn’t been the greatest form from him since, but he’s good enough to bounce back.

The final pick for this one will be TAWNY PORT who won on his recent reappearance.

He had an excellent season on the all weather in the winter and posted a great score at Chelmsford at the 5f trip in January.

Tawny Port was in this race a year ago but was well held. It’s some place claimed for him as he is well treated back on the turf.
