Novelty Betting & Other Events Betting

British sprinter Dina Asher-Smith is looking the business. It has been fantastic 2018 for her and after collecting three gold medals at the European Championships she has been pulled into 8/1 odds at Betfred to win* (Betting Odds were taken on August 14th, 2018 at 9:59 p.m.) the Sports Personality of the Year Award 2018.

Before this summer’s European Championships, she could have been backed around 150/1 but with her triple gold effort in winning the 100m, 200m and the 4x100m in Berlin, punters were quick to back her.

It wasn’t just the gold medals that he picked up either because in both the 100m and the 200m she set new British records as well. What really capped it off was her stunning run on the final leg of the 4x100m. She took the baton with Britain in fourth but produced an absolute flyer of a sprint to get the gold.

Asher-Smith also collected a gold in the 2018 Commonwealth games 4x100m while collecting a bronze in the 200m. At last year’s Sports Personality of the Year Awards, there was a surprise winner with Mo Farah behind handed the title, so there is a current appreciation for athletes away from Olympic years.
