ATP China Open Tennis Betting Info
The action takes place at the Olympic Centre in Beijing and while the WTA action this week has a mightily strong field out because of the Premier Tier level that it is, the men’s draw is just for an ATP World Tour 500 level, so not as many stars are out. In fact, only one of the big four are in China, with World Number Two Novak Djokovic looking to pick up his third China Open title

ATP China Open Tennis Betting Favourite and Defending Champion
This tournament should be all about Novak Djokovic. The Serbian is back in action for the first time since his loss in the final of the US Open to Andy Murray. Djokovic has dominated this event over the last two seasons, taking back to back titles here. He won in 2009 and in 2010 and has won three Tour level titles this season already. He is the class act in the field and should make a strong charge through to the final without breaking too much of a sweat. He should be fresh and fit and raring to go. The World number two should have things all his way. Djokovic is strong favourite to add to his perfect 9-0 match record at the event and is trading at a price of 4/9 favourite with online bookmaker Bet365.

Other Contenders
Realistically there shouldn’t be too many challengers to Novak Djokovic in this one. First of all you will have to look at Spain’s David Ferrer who is capable of pulling off a win. The Spaniard is such a hard worker and he pushed Djokovic very hard in the semi finals of the US Open. He stepped out in Kuala Lumpur recently in the kind of field which he should have taken victory, but stumbled at the semi final stage indoors against Julien Benneteau. You have to imagine that if Djokovic, who has an easy draw, slips up somewhere, it will only likely be against Ferrer or Tsonga who he would meet in the final. Ferrer was a runner up in the 2010 edition of the China Open.

So the bottom half of the draw should come down to David Ferrer and Jo Wilfried Tsonga. The Frenchman is in a bit of form as he recently won on home soil in Metz. Granted, it wasn’t a high quality field at all, but he also has a bit of history here as well, reaching the semi finals last season before losing out to Tomas Berdych. Tsonga has a 5-3 match record at the China Open and with his energy and standing in the world game, should push on to a semi final meeting against Ferrer.

Best Outside Bet
Tough to pick an outsider of a tournament like this, but would look for Richard Gasquet, simply because of form. He won last week in Bangkok, despite having some struggles along the way. Is in the top half of the draw along with Novak Djokovic so is a total outside shot. But the best of the bunch in terms of challengers sitting outside of the big three guns at the event.
