Andy Murray‘s absence from the season-ending ATP World Tour Finals has taken off a bit of the shine for the London crowds but Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer will all be involved and the select tournament at the O2 Arena rarely disappoints.

It’s likely 2013 will be remembered as the year that Murray finally won a Wimbledon final but that’s only as far as British tennis fans are concerned. The rest of the world has been celebrating the re-emergence of Nadal as the leading player on the ATP circuit. The Spaniard has won nine titles this year, including the French and US Opens, but is only second favourite in Greenwich behind Djokovic at 12/5 with unibet and 888sport. That’s probably because he lost to David Ferrer for the first time in the semi-finals of last week’s Paris Masters. Ferrer, a 33/1 chance with BetVictor and on betfair, lies in wait for his compatriot again but it may be a bit much to expect lightning to strike twice within a few days. Nadal’s other opponents in Group A, Stan Wawrinka and Tomas Berdych, have never beaten the world number one and are 10/1 (bwin) and 8/1 (Paddy Power) to win the section. Ferrer is 13/2 with Paddy Power but has had little time to recover from his Paris Masters Final against Djokovic so Nadal looks a shoe-in in this market at 1/2 with bwin as he would probably avoid the Serb in the semi-finals if he won all of his group matches.

Djokovic is a best 5/4 with Boylesports to win the ATP World Tour Finals and 4/6 with Paddy Power to win Group B ahead of Federer, Juan Martin del Potro and Richard Gasquet. Federer is 5/1 with bwin but there would be few that would argue that the Swiss is not the force of old and he is 9/1 with Boylesports and bwin to win this event for a seventh time in 2013. Federer is, in fact, 4/5 with bwin not to make the semi-finals. That’s more than a possibility given that del Potro is playing well, indeed the Argentinian could even be the bet of the tournament to reach the last four at 13/18 with bwin and he’s worth a small bet at 8/1 with Boylesports, unibet and 888sport to win the tournament itself considering the busy recent workload of some of his rivals.
