He has continued in sparkling form this season.
He won his first two races on his reappearance, both Group 1 fixtures and then on his most recent run, claimed second at the Prince of Wales’s Stakes at Royal Ascot.
Because he is coming down in grade here, leading claims are there. He sets the standard and is our pick for the win.

FOX CHAIRMAN does look to be the biggest threat to ADDEYBB in this one. He is coming on very well in 2020 but he hasn’t managed to get himself a score.
He was last in action three weeks ago at Windsor in a Group 3 effort when he was second. He’s a smart horse and should be in the frame.
LORD GLITTERS has to be the other pick from this field to make a run at the money places. He was last seen in the Strensall Stakes at York a month ago.
He didn’t quite get the run he wanted there, not managing to get into position well enough. He was just generally a little below par. However, going back up on the trip, he has some claims.

It’s another of the big feature sprints from Ayr and the Silver Cup Handicap favourite is KING’S LYNN at 10/3* (betting odds taken from William Hill at 23:37 GMT on Friday, 18th September 2020). The unexposed colt is making just his fourth racetrack appearance.
He got off the mark at the second attempt as a juvenile. In his one run on reappearance for this season, he claimed second place to Starman in a Doncaster novice.
Starman has since won at Listed level. King’s Lynn is on an attractive mark for this race and has Oisin Murphy in the saddle.

ATALANTA’S BOY needs some consideration after a very good season so far. He is really streaking along as a sprinter now and scored big in a Goodwood handicap three weeks ago.
There is a 5lb penalty that he takes on for this one, but looks a strong contender at 15/2 and is selected as our pick* (betting odds taken from William Hill at 23:37 GMT on Sunday, 9th August 2020).
WASNTEXPECTINGTHAT is an interesting player in the field after a superb run of form. This will be his first outing for six months.
But during the winter he scored two wins and three second-place finishes in five efforts. The last race he scored in, happened at Southwell.

She picked up a win on her debut and followed up with even better form by taking a third place finish in the Lowther Stakes at York.
That was a month ago and she looks to have some big claims here on what is just her third racetrack appearance. We have to support her to get the score.

Rapidly heading in the right direction is ILLYKATO who got off the mark at the second time of action. She was last seen in the Dick Poole Fillies’ Stakes at Salisbury a couple of weeks ago.
It wasn’t the sharpest of runs from her as she was drifting wide and settled for fourth. However, she looks a good fit for place claims on Saturday.
SCARLET BEAR is going to be another selection for this race. She was third at the Dick Poole Fillies’ Stakes at Salisbury a couple of weeks ago, ahead of Illykato.
That race looks to be the best indicator of form to look at ahead of this race. She is still a maiden, but lightly raced and looks a very good prospect to get into the places.

It is NAHAARR who is heading up the market for the Ayr Gold Cup on Saturday, from a current 6/1 quote* (betting odds taken from William Hill at 23:37 GMT on Friday, 18th September 2020). He scored on his penultimate run, which was at Newbury in July.
He wasn’t at the same level last time out at Goodwood, but was a respectable 9th of 27 in that handicap, which was 49 days ago.
It’s worth having him for the shortlist, however. That’s because he was progressing very well as a sprinter prior to that Goodwood show.

MR LUPTON warrants some respect for this contest as well as he had a big return to form last time out. He scored at the Curragh from a field of 22 over 6f just the six days ago.
He looked as if he had plenty to spare in that one as well. He takes on a 5lb penalty, but if he can push on from there and tough upon even better form he has produced previously, he could be a threat.
Our other selection is going to be STONE OF DESTINY for the pairing of Oisin Murphy and Andrew Balding. He collected an excellent win in a 21-runner Doncaster Handicap a week ago.

That’s three scores from four appearances this season. The best of those did happen at York a month ago at the 1m trip.
The race did pan out in his favour. But still, he appears to be one of the leading contenders in this one.

SHELIR takes on 6lb but he looks in such good shape at the moment, so he could defy that. Shelir got a score on his last effort when he got the job done at Thirsk in a 15-runner contest.

IRREVERENT is another looking in good shape at the moment and coming back up to a 1m distance should bring big claims out of him.
He is a previous course winner as well and put in a good effort at Leicester a couple of weeks ago, taking four and is sitting on a very handy mark.
