Remember Katy Perry’s halftime performance at the 2015 Super Bowl? Maybe, maybe not. But the spectacle strangely sparked off a phenomenon called Left Shark. Perry was flanked by two dancers dressed in shark costumes (of course) and the shark on her left went all rogue and just started busting out improvised moves. Suddenly people wanted to dress like Left Shark for Halloween.
But it is time to kick the Left Shark to the curb, it’s time for Jaws to swim off to the horizon because Baby Shark is now officially the most famous shark in town at the moment. Unless you have been living under a rock you’ve probably heard some rendition of the tune which originated out of South Korea.
There are so many versions of the kid’s song out there, as well as parodies and during a PDC darts tournament last month, Ricky Evans used it for his walk on and had dancers doing the moves by the side of the stage. It has indeed, gone viral.
Because of the enormous popularity of the ditty, it was reported this week that bookmaker Paddy Power were going to offer odds of 33/1 on Baby Shark being the 2018 Christmas Number One.
