Barcelona v Deportivo Betting Preview – La Liga 17th December 7.45pm

Barcelona have remained strong at the top of the Spanish top flight and they collected a very good win at out Sevilla last weekend. With rivals Real Madrid not in action this weekend, this could be a chance for Barca to exert even more supremacy and they go into the game five points clear of second placed Valencia. Deportivo are just above the drop zone heading into the weekend and with a defence that has been struggling badly out on the road this season. They could have a tough evening at the Nou Camp.

Barcelona v Deportivo Betting Tips

There was a fantastic 2-0 win at Sevilla last weekend for Barcelona to keep themselves strong and in command at the top of the table. That win extended their unbeaten streak of form as well this season to fifteen games unbeaten, winning twelve of those in this campaign. The only points that they have dropped at home this season came in a strange 2-2 draw with Celta Vigo in their last game at the Nou Camp. Barca though kept up their streak of having scored at least two goals in each home game in the league this season and they should be comfortable here. In the Coral correct score market, a Barcelona 2-0 result is at odds of 15/2. Three of the last five victories that Barcelona have recorded have been by that scoreline. Barca have four clean sheets in seven home fixtures and Barcelona to win to nil with Coral is going to have appeal in this one because of the lowly position of Deportivo.

Barcelona eased to a powerful 4-0 home win over Deportivo last season in the league however, they did lose the reverse fixture. Still, that has been Barcelona’s only loss in their last fourteen La Liga games against Deportivo but on home soil, they have only picked up a W3 D3 record against the visitors in their last six hostings of them. Barcelona have scored at least two goals in seven of their last eight league games against Deportivo and over 3.5 goals is a quote of 8/15. Barcelona have opened the scoring in 11 of their 15 league games so far this season and they have been ahead at the break in eight of those. Lionel Messi has fourteen league goals this season in La Liga and ten of those have been at home. Not too surprisingly Messi is the 6/4 Coral First Goalscorer favourite for the game. In total Barca have scored 22 goals in their seven home games and have only conceded the four. 71% of their home games have gone over 2.5 goals and 43% of those have gone over 3.5 goals at the Nou Camp.

It hasn’t been a great season for Deportivo who have claimed only the four wins this season in the top flight. Their form on the road doesn’t make for very convincing reading at all as they have gone W1 D2 L4. They have conceded at a rate of exactly two goals per game in the Spanish top flight so far and 71% of their road games have gone above the 2.5 goal line. They have a pretty poor scoring return against Barca from recent meetings too, having only scored in three of their last ten league fixtures against the Catalans. Both teams not to score at Coral returns a price of 4/5 which is pretty decent value all things considered. Deportivo have conceded the opening goal in 73% of their matches and they are likely to do so in this one. They are on a two match winless streak out on the road and they have shipped at least two goals in each of their four away defeats this term. They are going to have their hands full on Saturday to stay in this one at the Nou Camp.

Barcelona v Deportivo Predictions

The Catalans are going to be worth backing to win this one to nil. They have been dominant and in control on home soil and with the struggles that Deportivo have been having this season down near the drop zone, Barcelona should pick them off easily enough.
