The highlight of today’s football betting tips is the evening’s Championship fixture of Huddersfield v Cardiff.

So that will be the first of three football betting tips for today as we head to Spain and Germany for other selections.

We’ll start it all off in Huddersfield where the Terriers will be aiming to pull off an upset.

Best Football Betting Tips Today: Huddersfield v Cardiff.

Today’s football betting starts in the second tier where Huddersfield are the 5/2 underdogs on home turf to come up with a win.

They have managed to take the one win in their last six league games (D1 L4) so they are having some struggles.

The fact that Cardiff are arriving in red-hot form and that the Terriers have lost their last four home games against the Welsh club doesn’t make for great reading for them.

Huddersfield have produced a decent enough W8 D3 L6 record on home turf this season and are undefeated in their last two.

Less than half of their home games have made it over 2.5 goals.

In their last three league fixtures home and away combined, Huddersfield have managed just one goal.

Cardiff have put together an immense run of form which has seen them play their way into the top six.

They are undefeated in their last ten league fixtures and have won seven of their last eight played.

Cardiff thumped Derby 4-0 on the weekend at home.

On the road, they have taken a W4 D2 record in their last six.

They bring plenty of appeal for an away win.

Cardiff to win at 21/10

Football Betting Picks Today: Schalke v Mainz

It is to the Bundesliga that we go next for this contest between the bottom two in the league.

Schalke are a long way adrift at the moment with just 9 points on the board this season.

That’s eight points behind second-from-bottom Mainz.

There is a quote of 12/5 on Schalke coming up with the home victory in this fixture.

The one league win that they have earned this season happened on home soil.

But they have lost their last four on home turf, failing to score in any of their last three.

It has been an average of just 0.67 goals per home game from them in this campaign.

Mainz do have a reasonable shot at survival as they are only a point from safety.

They have suffered the one defeat in their last four, winning three of their last six.

Out on the road, it has been a W2 D3 L6 record for them and they toppled mid-table Monchengladbach in their last away game.

Simply because of that and the fact that they are averaging a goal per away game, it’s the visitors that would have to be backed for the win.

Football Betting Tips for Today: Valencia v Villarreal

The last of our football betting picks today is from the Spanish top flight and that’s Valencia v Villarreal.

There has been very little consistency from Valencia recently as they have claimed a W2 D2 L3 record in their last seven league fixtures.

Their home form has been ok though, because they have won their last two such fixtures, both with a clean sheet.

They are actually undefeated in their last four La Liga home games.

However, each of the three home defeats that they have suffered this season have been against teams that are currently in the top six.

Friday night’s opponents Villarreal are currently 7th.

Their overall record against teams currently in the top eight (home and away) is W2 D1 L7 this season.

Not too surprisingly the home win is the underdog option at 14/5 for Friday.

Villarreal however, are winless in seven, drawing five of those.

So they have gone off the boil a little bit in their chase for a top-six finish.

Villarreal are carrying away form, going undefeated in their last four on the road and they have dropped only one of their last 11 league away games.

So they don’t immediately look like losing.

But the lack of recent wins anywhere makes the even money quote on them getting a victory a little questionable.

Especially with them being on a three-match losing streak away at Valencia.

Draw at 23/10
