Thursday's three best football betting tips from the Europa League and Championship

Today’s football betting tips are naturally going towards the Europa League as we take a look at two selections from them.

We are also going to highlight a huge relegation fight from the Championship as Rotherham host Coventry for football betting today.

But it is the UEFA action that we go first as we look at a couple of ties that are nicely balanced ahead of the second leg.

Best Football Betting Tips Today: Roma v Ajax

This had the making of being the top fixture of the round and the first leg was a cracker.

Roma came away with a vital 2-1 success in Amsterdam.

So that gives them a huge advantage to roll forward with now as they try to kill this tie off.

On the one previous occasion that Roma hosted Ajax, there was a 1-1 draw.

That was back in the 2002 Champions League.

Roma are 9/5 to take the home win in this one, as it is expected that Ajax are going to come hard at them.

This tie is still finely balanced but the Dutch side are not going to be a pushover still.

Ajax are at 13/10 to get the victory and they are in top form.

They have won their away games in this season’s Europa League at Lille and Young Boys.

We expect them to fight back hard. We don’t know if it will be enough to get them through.

Roma have incidentally have won all 11 European ties after having won the first leg away from home.

Ajax’s away record in the knockout phase is W5 D2 L8.

Roma to win at 9/5

Football Betting Picks Today: Slavia Prague v Arsenal

The Gunners still have a bit of work to do in this quarter-final after only managing a 1-1 home draw in the first leg.

They are in patchy form at the moment with a W1 D2 L2 record in their last five in all competitions.

Consistency is a problem for them.

But the bookmakers are expecting them to come through, as the Gunners are 3/4 odds-on favourites in the match outright.

On their one previous visit to Slavia Prague, they played out a 0-0 draw in the 2007 Champions League group stage.

That wouldn’t be enough for them on Thursday.

Arsenal need to come out and get at least a goal on the board.

Arsenal are unbeaten in 11 away games in the Europa League, winning eight and need to tap back into that form.

Slavia Prague at 18/5 for the home victory in this tie.

Two rounds ago they knocked Premier League side Leicester out of the competition. In the following round, they got rid of Rangers.

So they appear to be punching above their weight and could make this a really tricky night for Arsenal.

They have won six of their eight UEFA Competition ties after having drawn the first leg away from home.

Salvia Prague are undefeated at home this season in Europe but have won only four of their last 11 European games.

Arsenal to win at 3/4

Football Betting Tips for Today: Rotherham v Coventry

This is an extra game that Rotherham are squeezing in after playing on Tuesday.

That was a home game against QPR which they crucially won 3-1.

The Millers won their last home game against Coventry, a 4-0 success.

They need a repeat of that as they are still trying to get themselves safe for the season in the Championship.

Bet at Paddy Power

They are on shaky ground, but that midweek victory over QPR at home has lit up their survival hopes.

If they deliver the win on Thursday, they will move out of the Championship relegation zone at the expense of Coventry.

The Millers are 6/4 to get the home win, as they had lost five in a row at home before that midweek victory.

But Coventry have the worst away record in the division and are averaging 0.7 goals per away game.

They have managed just one clean sheet on their travels.

The fact that Rotherham have won 5 of 7 games this season against teams currently in the bottom five with them, tips us towards the home win.

Rotherham to win at 6/4
