Today’s football betting tips hit the midweek stage of proceedings and there is some league action knocking around.

West Brom v Preston is the feature from the domestic front as the one scheduled Championship fixture.

Following a football tip for that, we visit the French Ligue 1 and the Scottish top flight as well.

Best Football Betting Tips Today: West Brom v Preston

Football betting tips today start in the Championship with West Brom looking to regain some ground on the top three.

They go into the game fifth in the table after a run of just one win in five (D2 L2).

At the Hawthorns this season, West Brom have produced a W8 D5 L0 record.

West Brom have given up just six goals on home turf this season, taking a clean sheet in 62% of home games.

That should put them in good stead to wrap up the points against Preston.

Earlier this season, when West Brom paid them a visit, they played out a 1-1 draw.

Of their eight home victories this season, West Brom have won five of them by a 1-goal margin.

Only 38% of their home fixtures have gone over 2.5 goals, which is largely down to their excellent defence.

Preston have been in decent form, having lost only two eight (W3 D3).

But they have failed to bank a win in any of their last three (D2 L1).

Preston have averaged under a goal per away game this season in their W3 D3 L7 record.

While their three road wins have come against top-ten sides, they just haven’t happened often enough.

West Brom to win by a 1-goal margin at 12/5

Football Betting Picks Today: Angers v St Etienne

Football betting for today moves over the Ligue 1 action on the night as Angers host St Ettiene.

Angers picked up a win in their most recent effort, banking a 2-1 home success over Troyes on the weekend.

That moved them on to a W5 D1 L4 home record this season and snapped a two-match losing streak they were on.

Four of the five home wins that they have banked have come against teams in the bottom half of the table.

It has been nothing more than average form from Angers this season, really in the league.

Saint-Etienne are rock bottom, so the home win does look a decent fit.

Earlier this season, there was a 2-2 draw between these two.

St Etienne fell to a seven-match losing streak with a loss against Lyon last time out.

They have failed to hit the back of the net in five of their last six.

Their road record stands at W1 D2 L7 this season in the top flight.

With St Etienne having conceded at an average of two goals per away game this season and struggling along on a three-match away losing streak, it’s hard to see them getting in this.

Angers to win at 23/20

Football Betting Tips for Today: Hearts v Celtic

Today’s football betting tips round off with a trip to the Scottish top flight for Hearts v Celtic.

It should be a good contest as both teams are currently in decent form.

Hearts have strung together a three-match winning streak in the league, keeping a clean sheet in two of those.

It has been a very strong W7 D3 L1 home record by them this season.

Rangers were the only visitors to beat them in that sequence.

Hearts have averaged 1.8 goals per home game this season, and have conceded at well under a goal per game.

Hearts did take a win over Celtic back at the end of just, the last time they hosted them, before losing on the return to Parkhead.

Celtic are in even better shape, with only two points dropped from their last eight fixtures.

They are powering along away and are W7 D1 L3 on their league travels.

The losses were all in their first three away fixtures of the season, so they are now unbeaten in eight.

Home and away, Celtic have not lost in fifteen league matches now.

In 7 of their last 8 away games, Celtic have scored at least two goals.

Hearts may give them a great run for their money, but Celtic can get across the line and bag the three points.

Celtic to win & BTTS at 13/5
