Betting on non-winning teams in Italy, Spain, Germany and France

(The other side of the coin). Having looked at the NON-WINNERS in the Premiership, it seems a good idea to look at what the rest of the world are doing but from a different angle.

Non-winning teams in Italy – Serie A

Italy has five sides that have won 50% or more games so far this season.
AC Milan, Roma, Napoli, Lazio and Inter. Overall there have been 99 wins ( 49.3%) as against 102 others.
It’s hard to sum-up this league. From one aspect it’s still as tight as ever. Some fifty games have ended 0 – 0 or 1 – 1. Then there have been a couple of goalfests including 3 – 3 and 4 – 4. Eight goals in an Italian game has always been unthinkable.
However it does appear that the HOME sides still hold sway. They score three goals to the away sides two. Having said that,
AVERAGE HOME GOALS is only 1.4 per game. Talk about being at cross purposes.
The bottom five teams here are returning dismal stats. Cesena and Lecce have 25% winning games, Catania and Brescia 23.8% and Bari has an unbelievable 15%. Goalscoring isn’t their strong point by any means Three of these sides have scored only 6 goals away from home and Cesena and Lecce aren’t much better with 7 each.

Non-Winning Teams in Spain – La Liga

Although five teams have won more than 50% of their games there is really only two teams in the shake-up. Barcelona have won 90% of their 20 games and Real Madrid 78.9% of theirs. VALENCIA, VILLAREAL and ESPANYOL are fighting it out for the other two Champions League spots.
The gap between top and bottom here is really emphatic. Almeria have won 2 out of 19 games. Sporting Gijon and Real Zaragoza, 3 wins each and Levante just 4 wins.
In general total home wins are 53.4%, whilst drawn games at 19.2% are well below average. It will really pay to study the stats in depth. Hercules have an abysmal away record were goals are concerned, having scored just 3 in 11 games. Zaragoza aren’t too much better with just 4 goals in 9 games. Barcelona on the other hand have scored 33 goals on their travels and conceded only 4. There have been 30 games in which at least 4 goals have been scored by one team. 22 of these games were won by the HOME side. Is it any wonder that it’s hard finding a decent price for some of the matches in La Liga.

Non-Winning Teams in Germany – Bundesliga

The Bundesliga has three teams on 50% or higher. Borussia Dortmund appear on their way to yet another season in the Champions League. As there is only one other automatic place there should be some fine games ahead. Third place in the league only gets a qualification spot. Leverkusen, Hanover, Bayern Munich and Mainz all have something to go for.
Relegation places look booked by Borussia Monchengladbach and Stuttgart. Third place for the drop could go to one of six sides. Although with a loss percentage of
55.6 St. Pauli must be favourite. They have the distinction of being one of the WORST ATTACKING SIDES AWAY FROM HOME. Averaging less than a goal a game. Pushing St. Pauli for that last relegation place is Cologne. Their away form is were they are falling down with just one win out of 10.
In general the stats are near average for home wins @ 45%. Draws are a lttle below par @ 20.7% giving the aways a boost @ 34.3%. Anyone who likes to LAY away sides, beware.
Only the Irish Premiership can come within striking distance of this away percentage amongst the usual suspects.

Non-Winning Teams in France – Ligue 1

The FRENCH CHAMPIONNAT has a bit of a reputaion for producing close-run affairs and these figures don’t disagree with that assumption. Surprise leaders Lille are the only side that have not got a greater NON-WIN percentage. And their offering is only 50/50.
There are only three Champion League  places up for grabs and clubs in the 4th to 10th places could well get in on the act if putting
a decent run together.
Knowing the tightness of most games it’s not surprising to see that goals are really at a premium. Games only average 2.3 goals with the HOME side claiming 1.3
Only 6 sides can better this average.
At the bottom, Arles- Avignon look out of their depth. Not only are goals more than scarce but the defence leaks like a sieve. 10 for and 40 against in 20 games speaks volumes.
Win figures are a trifle low at 42.0% whilst draws are high by most standards, @ 34.5.
All figures are correct pre-kick-off 29th January.
