Betvictor World Cup 2018 odds

Is it simply a case of Germany or Brazil?

Will the leading four in the BetVictor World Cup 2018 odds outright winner market all make it through to the semi finals? Brazil, Germany, Spain and France are all on separate paths to the final (four that is of course if everything goes to plan and all of them win their groups). If something screwy happens, for example Brazil wins their group and Germany only finishes as runners-up in theirs, those two would meet in the round of 16 instead of potentially in the final.

Who can stop Brazil and Germany?

Brazil are the 9/2 joint-favourites* (betting odds taken at 3:56 a.m. on June 5th, 2018) alongside the reigning world champions Germany in Betvictor World Cup 2018 odds. Germany won the tournament for the fourth time four years ago as they edged their way past Argentina in extra time of the Final. So that is both of the South American giants (Brazil and Argentina) that they battled past to get their hands on the trophy.

Looking at the draw for the 2018 World Cup it looks as if Germany could well face all European opponents in their knockout stage route to the final and given how they are so powerful on their own continent, then they should stand a good chance of getting close to retaining their title. Who else in the world can say that they can stand toe-to-toe with Brazil in terms of being such a strong front-runner to be crowned World Champions?

In Betvictor World Cup 2018 odds you have the option to back a Germany/Brazil option in the “Name the Finalists” market for 12/1 odds* (betting odds taken at 3:56 a.m. on June 5th, 2018).

Are Spain, Argentina or France strong enough?

The main contenders behind Brazil and Germany for the 2018 World Cup crown are Spain, France and Argentina. You can look at any of those and find reasons to merit them trading strongly to win the tournament this summer. So why they are at longer prices than Brazil and Germany if they are so good? Well, it is because they have clearer cracks which could be exploited than the two joint favourites have in theirs.

France, for example, have a tremendous squad but they bottled their big chance in the Euro 2016 Final against Portugal because head coach Didier Deschamps misread the situation and deployed the wrong tactics. There were more examples of them missing the boat tactically in World Cup 2018 qualifying when they suffered a poor away loss against challengers Sweden. So France’s Achilles heel could well be on the tactical side of things from the head coach.

Argentina’s could be that they don’t play brave enough football and despite having Lionel Messi in their side, may not be able to do enough at the end of the day in front of goal to compete when their defence does concede. Spain can keep the ball for long periods of games and will dominate possession in each game that they enter. However, out of the five main contenders, they are the ones with the weakest options up front.

Who will top score at Russia 2018?

Speaking of scoring power, in the BetVictor World Cup 2018 top goalscorer market the bulk of the front runners come from the leading nations at the tournament, which is not too surprising. Because the big teams are going to get more games and have more quality in them, then their strikers are naturally going to have a better chance of walking off with the Golden Boot than say England’s Harry Kane or Poland’s Robert Lewandowski, both proven prolific goal scorers but their respective countries are not expected to get quite so deep into the tournament.

Lionel Messi is the 8/1 favourite* (betting odds taken at 3:56 a.m. on June 5th, 2018) in the BetVictor World Cup 2018 top goalscorer market. Four years ago he produced a four-goal haul to help the Albiceleste reach the final, but he couldn’t help his country get past Germany in the end. Part of that was down to negative tactics by Argentina overall though it has to be said. Brazil’s Neymar matched Messi four years ago with four goals to his name.

Interestingly at each of the last three World Cups, it has been Germany who have been the top scorers in each of those editions. That’s some consistency and young Timo Werner, who made a huge impression in helping Germany win the Confederations Cup last summer, is expected to shine and indeed outshine his compatriot Thomas Muller who has a great track record in the World Cup with ten goals in thirteen matches. Of all players heading to this summer’s World Cup, no player has produced more World Cup goals than Muller has. Muller is a big 20/1 odds option in the Betvictor World Cup 2018 top goalscorer market with Werner in at 14/1* (betting odds taken at 3:56 a.m. on June 5th, 2018).

Price up your own bet feature

It should be a great chase for the 2018 Golden Boot because it wouldn’t take a lot for someone like the aforementioned Kane or Lewandowski, or even Cristiano Ronaldo to run up a few goals in the group stage alone. Four years ago Colombia’s James Rodriguez who was the top scorer without getting past the quarter finals, so it can be done, even though more commonly the top scorer comes from a side who have reached the Final.

You will be able to enjoy BetVictor World Cup 2018 odds on the outright winner market, the top goalscorer market and many other markets for the tournament.
