Bournemouth v Arsenal Betting Tips – Premier League 14th January 1.30pm

Bournemouth are just about away from the drop zone heading into the weekend so there is still substantial pressure riding on them. They have managed to put together a three-match unbeaten streak of form though. Arsenal have been steadily improving out on the road at least in terms of avoiding defeat. The Gunners are undefeated in their last five Premier League away games and will be hoping to grind out a win here to continue good form against the Cherries.

Bournemouth News and Form

Bournemouth still have a lot of work to put in this season, but they have displayed a bit of character recently having gone unbeaten in their last three (W1 D2). That’s a positive for them, but they will probably have wanted more from that sequence of games as they faced relatively easy opposition in the form of West Ham, Everton and Brighton. The win in the sequence came at home against Everton. Bournemouth have suffered only the one defeat in their last four home games in the top flight (W1 D2 L1) so it’s not been a bad return. Overall they are only W3 D3 L5 at the Vitality and they have not been without their struggles at the back. The last time that they kept a clean sheet at the Vitality was back on November 18th when they took a win over Huddersfield. Since then, they have not taken a clean sheet in any of their five home games and they have conceded at least two in four of those five games as well. Bournemouth are always a hard-working side, but they are lacking the quality overall. 64% of their home games have seen at least three goals so over 2.5 goals at Paddy Power is well worth considering at 1/2* (Betting Odds taken from January 11th, 2018 at 6.53 pm). They have failed to earn a clean sheet in their last nine league games overall home and away and they have conceded at least one goal in 82% of their home games. As a positive, they have scored at least two goals in each of their last three games themselves.

Arsenal News and Form

It has not been a great season for Arsenal away from the Emirates, but they have gone undefeated in their last five on the road so that is at least a positive for them (W2 D3). However, out on the road this season they have dropped points that they probably shouldn’t have, for example in matches out at Southampton, West Ham and West Brom, teams struggling in the bottom third of the table. Arsenal have strung together a seven-match unbeaten streak of form home and away in the Premier League but they have not managed to keep a clean sheet in any of their last four games. During that sequence of matches Arsenal they have conceded eight goals in total so it may be worth a look at both teams to score at Paddy Power for a quote of 8/15 odds* (Betting Odds taken from January 11th, 2018 at 6.53 pm). It looks like a reasonable shout. The Gunners still look a bit shaky on the road, because they have conceded more than they have scored and they have jury issues at the moment as well as having played an extra game in midweek. Arsenal have scored 77% of their away goals this season in the second half of matches and 11 of their 16 away goals conceded have been after the break in games. Alexandre Lacazette is the anytime goalscorer outright favourite and he badly needs a goal.

Bournemouth v Arsenal Head to Head

There is only a short head to head history to dig into here. There have been just the six previous games between the two sides in all competitions, five of those in the Premier League. Arsenal are W5 D1 from those six games, including a 3-0 win at the Emirates over them this season in the top flight. Arsenal have scored exactly three goals in four of their six previous games against Bournemouth and the other two were both 2-0 victories for them.

Bournemouth v Arsenal Predictions

Arsenal to win: The Cherries need to dig in and scrap now because of their position in the league, however Arsenal, despite being bogged down by a busy fixture list and injuries, have improved on the road and can get the win.
