Bournemouth v Huddersfield Betting Preview – Premier League 18th November 3.00pm

Both of these sides took a win before the recent intentional break so which one of them will be able to build on that as they meet up on the south coast on the weekend? Bournemouth managed to claw their way out of the bottom three with their victory at Newcastle last time out and while the Terriers have won two of their last three, the successes haven’t been on the road.

Bournemouth v Huddersfield Betting Tips

After taking a win before the international break, Bournemouth have a reasonable chance to follow that up with another victory. They had their poor start to the season but have recovered somewhat to go W2 D1 L2 in their last five games. However, the two wins in that sequence have been out on the road taking a 1-0 win at Newcastle before the international break. The Cherries have won just three games all season and each of those were by a one goal margin. Bournemouth to win by a one goal margin at Coral is, therefore, a decent option at 5/2. Bournemouth’s home league record this season is a poor four points from a W1 D1 L3 return and they have failed to win their last two there. Their 1-0 win at Newcastle was just their second clean sheet of the seasons and they are a price of 2/1 to win to nil in this one.

It is hard to see the goals being racked up in this battle on the south coast because neither Bournemouth nor Swansea are attacking powerhouses. Bournemouth so far have returned only the three league goals at the Vitality and they are crying out for someone to hit a bit of form up front. They do have players who know where the goal is and Jermain Defoe and Joshua King are the joint 6/4 anytime goalscorer favourites at Coral for the game with Callum Wilson at 13/8. There haven’t been many chances carved out for them though that is the problem. Bournemouth have netted the opening goal in just four of their eleven games. A half time draw at Coral for a price of 5/4 is stacks of value here as the Cherries have been level at the break in all of their home games in the top flight this term.

This will be the first meeting between Bournemouth and Huddersfield since the 2014/15 championship season and there was a 1-1 result on the south coast between them after the Cherries had won 4-0 out on the road. The Cherries have put up a good W4 D1 L1 record in their last six fixtures against the Terriers in league competition. The Cherries do also have three clean sheets in their last six against Huddersfield and both teams not to score at Coral is a good 4/5 option. The Terriers can be proud of their efforts so far this season in the league as they go into the weekend sitting in the tenth spot after winning two of their last three, but those wins, over Manchester United and West Brom both happened on home soil and their away form recently leaves a lot to be desired with just one point in their last four road games.

Huddersfield have failed to hit the back of the net in any of their last four away games in the Premier League now and they have shipped at least two goals in three of their last four road games. In the Coral correct score market, a Bournemouth 1-0 result is a 6/1 option with a 2-0 win for the home side coming in at 8/1. The Terriers have conceded an average of 1.4 goals per game away from home so there is a window of opportunity for Bournemouth in this one you would imagine. 86% of the goals that Huddersfield have conceded away from home this season in the top flight have all been in the second half of matches. A Draw/Bournemouth half time/full time punt at Coral is a decent enough 15/4 option.

Bournemouth v Huddersfield Predictions

Bournemouth to win: The Cherries haven’t been overly conceiving on home soil this season but the lack of production from the Terriers away from home suggests that a narrow home win could be on the cards in this one. Back the Cherries to just get over the line in a low scoring game.
