Comfortable win for Canarinho

Brazil v Bolivia Betting Tips – 2019 Copa America, 15th June 01.30am

The 2019 Copa America gets underway on Saturday, with tournament hosts Brazil kicking things off with a tie against Bolivia at the Estadio do Morumbi in Sao Paulo. Venezuela and Peru are also in the group, with the Brazilians being the strong favourites to book their place in the knockout stages. Firstly, though, Tite’s team will be hoping to get up and running with three points and a good performance in Sao Paulo.

Brazil News and Form – Easy win for the hosts?

The Brazilians head into the Copa America in outstanding form. Since losing 2-1 to Belgium in last summer’s 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, Canarinho have won nine and drawn one of their past ten fixtures. Meanwhile, that defeat to the Belgians remains their only loss in two years.

Brazil warmed up for these finals with a thumping 7-0 win over Honduras in a friendly in Porto Alegre last week. Goals from Gabriel Jesus (2), Thiago Silva, Philippe Coutinho, David Neres, Roberto Firmino and Richarlison did the business. Meanwhile, Selecao have conceded just two goals in their last ten games.

Brazil have been Copa America / South American champions on eight occasions, although they have not won the competition since 2007. After going out in the group stage in the Copa America Centenario in USA three years ago, the five-time World Cup winners will be hoping to put things right this time around. Brazil are currently the 6/5 favourites to lift the trophy.

Brazil v Bolivia Head to Head

Bolivia beat Brazil 2-1 ten years ago, which was their last victory in this fixture

The last meeting ended in a goalless draw in October 2017

Key-Facts – Brazil v Bolivia

  • The Bolivians have won just one of their past 16

Bolivia News and Form – Bolivians to find it tough going in Sao Paulo?

The Bolivians head into this match in Sao Paulo as the overwhelming underdogs. The bookmakers are giving them no hope, with some even offering 80/1 for a Bolivia win. Victory for La Verde will go down as one of the biggest shocks in Copa America history.

Bolivia currently find themselves in horrible form. Their last victory came against Myanmar back in October, with Luis Haquin, Marcelo Martins and Leonardo Vaca getting the goals in a 3-0 win in Yangon. That remains Bolivia’s only triumph since beating Chile 1-0 back in September 2017.

The odds are well and truly stacked against Eduardo Villegas’ side in this one. If Brazil hit their stride in the Estadio do Morumbi, it could be a long day for the Bolivians in Sao Paulo.

Brazil v Bolivia Predictions

Brazil win: At 1/16 for a Brazil win, the result seems a formality. The Brazilians should be far too strong for Bolivia on Saturday, so take a punt on Tite’s troops to be winning at half time and full time at 1/3. I also believe that it’s worth backing the hosts to win to nil, which is also priced at 1/3 with bet365.
