Brazil v Chile Betting Preview – World Cup 2018 Qualifiers 11th October

Chile picked up a win over Ecuador last week and along with a draw between Argentina and Peru plus a surprising home loss for Colombia, they shot up the table to sit in third place. That was a game they had to win because they have such a tough finish in this one. Chile are one of five nations fighting for those two remaining automatic qualification spots and not even a point in this may be good enough. Can they get a win over Brazil who have sauntered their way to winning the group?

Brazil v Chile Betting Tips

Brazil are fully relaxed with them having already booked their place at the World Cup a while ago. They have made light work of winning the group having posted a W11 D5 L1 record throughout. The only defeat they have suffered along the way actually happened against Chile, and because perhaps of not needing to win, they have only produced back to back draws in qualification against Colombia and Bolivia. Still, they are still ten points clear at the top from Uruguay, so have been able to enjoy the luxury of taking their foot off the gas. They have maintained a strong home record in the campaign, having scored 23 goals in a W8 D1 sequence. They have netted at least two in each of their games and six of their seven wins in their W7 D1 record they netted three goals exactly in.

A Brazil 3-1 result in the bet35 correct score market is a decent 12/1 poke for this one, just because Chile to an extent have to force the issue a bit. Neymar is the bet365 first goalscorer favourite at 13/with Gabriel Jesus at 6/5 and Roberto Firmino at 7/4 as options in the anytime goalscorer market. This is awkward for Chile. The only result that ensures that they land one of the automatic qualification spots is a win. But that’s not easy to go and get out in Brazil. Anything less than victory means that they will be relying on other results to go their way. Unfortunately for Chile, they have really had their struggles away from home in the qualification process this time with a W2 D1 L5 record on the road. Plus they have pretty poor head to head from going against Brazil as well.

At least they have the positive of having beaten Brazil earlier in the campaign and that snapped a 14 match winless streak that they were on against the Selecao. In the last fifteen meetings between Brazil and Chile, Brazil hold a W11 D3 L1 record against Chile. Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez is the top scorer for Chile in the qualification group and he is a 7/4 anytime goalscorer option for this big game. It may well be worth a flutter on both teams to score at bet365 for a price of 7/10 again, just because Chile really need to seek out a win. Chile though are not in great form as their victory over Ecuador in their last game is the only win that they have picked up in their last six games in a W1 D2 L3 record. They need a huge night in Sao Paulo, but will they come up short in this one?

Brazil v Chile Predictions

Brazil to win: Brazil are just one cruise control and they can still win this. Chile are desperate but their away form has been pretty poor throughout the campaign and Brazil can finish them off in this one. The Brazilians are just too appealing at home to pass up.
