Brazil v Paraguay Betting Tips – 2019 Copa America, 28th June 01.30am

2019 Copa America hosts Brazil take on Paraguay in the quarter-finals at Arena do Gremio in Porto Alegre on Friday. The in-form Brazilians are the clear favourites to reach the last four. Having not won this tournament since 2007, Tite’s troops will be going for gold this year. Before the quarter-finals have kicked off, Selecao are the bookies’ favourites at just 6/5 to lift the trophy.

Brazil News and Form – Easy win for the hosts?

The Brazilians booked their place in the knockout stages of the Copa America by winning Group A, beating Venezuela, Peru and Bolivia to top stop. Along the way, Canarinho scored eight and shipped none.

Tite’s team kicked off the competition with a comfortable 3-0 win over Bolivia in Sao Paulo, with Barcelona’s Philippe Coutinho scoring two and Gremio striker Everton Soares helping himself to a goal late on.

Brazil were then held to a frustrating 0-0 draw by Venezuela in Salvador. The hosts racked up 17 shots on goal but failed to find a breakthrough. Nevertheless, the Brazilians more than made up for it in their final Group A game, as they thumped Peru 5-0 at Arena Corinthians – Casemiro, Roberto Firmino, Everton, Dani Alves and Willian were the scorers in Sao Paulo.

Brazil have looked dominant in their home tournament so far, and it’s difficult to bet against them this year. Selecao will be gunning for their ninth Copa America crown, but they must navigate past Paraguay first.

Brazil v Paraguay Head to Head

Paraguay have won the last two Copa America meetings, both on penalties

Paraguay News and Form – End of the road for the Paraguayans?

Paraguay went through to the last eight by being one of the best third placed teams. To be honest, White and Red struggled in Group B, picking up just two points from a possible nine. Colombia won the group with maximum points, with Argentina finishing in second spot on four.

The Paraguayans were involved in a four-goal thriller in their opening game in Brazil, letting a two-goal lead slip to draw 2-2 with Qatar. Goals from Oscar Cardozo and Derlis Gonzalez put them 2-0 up, but a late capitulation saw them drop two points in Rio.

Paraguay then picked up an impressive 1-1 draw with Argentina in their second match. Richard Sanchez gave Eduardo Berizzo’s boys a first-half lead, but Lionel Messi equalised from the spot before the hour.

Despite ending Group B with a 1-0 loss to Colombia in Salvador, Paraguay’s two points proved to be enough to put them through. However, their time in Brazil could be coming to an end sooner rather than later, as Berizzo’s side are priced at 14/1 to get past the hosts on Friday.

Brazil v Paraguay Predictions

Brazil win: The hosts have already eased past Bolivia and Peru in this tournament, and they should have no problems getting the better of Paraguay in this one. At the tempting price of 5/1, take a punt on Brazil to win 3-0. Canarinho will be looking to dominate this game from start to finish, so I like the look of Tite’s side to be winning at half time and full time at 4/7.
