Brentford News and Form – Can the Bees return to winning ways?
Thomas Frank’s side were beaten at Sheffield Wednesday last weekend, failing to hold on to a lead in an eventual 2-1 loss. However, they hit Luton for seven in their previous home game, with the excellent Josh Da Silva helping himself to a hat-trick in the stunning victory.
Brentford have been in patchy form of late, though, winning three and losing three of their past six. At Griffin Park, the Londoners have won three of their previous four, losing only once since August. Overall, they have won four, drawn three and lost just twice on home turf.
Brentford have blown hot and cold in recent weeks, but when they are good, they are very good. The recent win over Luton was one of the best performances in Championship history, but last weekend’s reverse at Hillsborough was no doubt a real setback. Can they secure a statement win in midweek over one of their promotion rivals?

Cardiff are unbeaten in the last four meetings, winning each of the last three
The Bees’ last victory over the Bluebirds came in April 2016, when Scott Hogan netted twice in a 2-1 win at Griffin Park
City have won seven of the past ten meetings
- Brentford have taken nine points from the last 12 on offer at Griffin Park
- Cardiff picked up their first away win of the season in their last away match
- The Bluebirds are a point ahead of the Bees in the table at present
Cardiff City News and Form – Will the Bluebirds make it four wins on the spin?
Cardiff City have made a huge improvement since Neil Harris joined the club. The Bluebirds had an outstanding time under Neil Warnock, but it was the right time for the popular boss to move on from South Wales.
Under Harris, City have won three and drawn one. After coming from two goals down to draw 2-2 with Charlton Athletic at The Valley in Harris’ first match in charge, the Bluebirds have secured successive Championship wins over Stoke City, Nottingham Forest and Barnsley. Cardiff’s recent win at the City Ground was their first away triumph of the season.
The Welsh outfit have turned themselves into genuine promotion candidates seemingly overnight. Cardiff have gone back to basics, and they have shot up to eighth in the table as a result. An away win at Griffin Park on Wednesday would send out a real signal of intent to the rest of their Championship rivals.

Brentford vs Cardiff City Predictions
Draw: Brentford will still be hurting from last weekend’s 2-1 loss at Sheffield Wednesday. As for Cardiff, they are flying at the moment, winning each of their last three since drawing at Charlton.
On paper, these two teams look pretty evenly matched – a quick glance at the current Championship table will tell you exactly that. With that in mind, I’m backing the Bees and Bluebirds to play out an entertaining draw at Griffin Park on Wednesday. The draw and both teams to score is priced at 4/1.
Brentford have netted 16 goals at home, with seven of those coming in their last home fixture, while Cardiff have scored seven goals under Harris. Put some money on over 3.5 goals at 12/5.
