Brighton News and Form

It has been a struggle for Brighton since early December to get wins on the board. They have taken one victory in their last ten league fixture. They haven’t managed one in any of their last five (D2 L3). Last weekend they battered at the door of Watford, but just couldn’t find a way through. They did more than enough to win the game though. They just couldn’t get that breakthrough. Brighton’s home form isn’t bad at W1 D2 L1 in their last four, the loss in that sequence too was a 1-0 reverse against Liverpool.

Only 42% of their home games this season have ended over 2.5 goals. Each of their last four at the Amex have finished under the goal line. Brighton have taken a clean sheet in a third of their home games this season. Overall on home soil, their record is W5 D4 L3 and they scored in each of their first ten home games of the term. They are without a goal now in their last two on home soil though. All three of the home defeats Brighton have suffered this season have been against current top-four sides and all by a one-goal margin.

Burnley News and Form

Burnley are now six matches unbeaten, winning three of those, but drawing each of the last three. Those three draws were against Watford, Man Utd and Southampton. The away record of Burnley this season isn’t great at W2 D4 L7 though. But they have improved to an unbeaten three-match streak on their travels (W1 D2) recently.

There has been a stronger spring in their step recently for sure. It has helped them get out of the drop zone. In their thirteen away games, they have only come up with the eleven goals this term. They have scored in three of their last four on the road though.

The Clarets have conceded at an average of 1.85 goals per road games, having earned only the three clean sheets (all 0-0 draws incidentally). 54% of their away games have ended over 2.5 goals. There is a big trend which is worth a look regarding the halftime away results that Burnley have produced.

They have been at W0 D9 L4 at half time in their road games this season. Burnley have shipped two-thirds of their away goals in the second half of fixtures and have scored 64% of their away goals after the halftime break. Just twice on their travels have Burnley opened the scoring. Fulham are the only side to have conceded more league goals than they have done this season.
