Brighton News and Form

The Seagulls are feeling the pinch at the moment because they have failed to win any of their last seven fixtures (over 90 minutes). They needed extra time in their replay against Championship side West Brom in the last round to get through. Glenn Murray came on and rescued them with two extra-time goals. Brighton have actually only managed to win two of their last 14 games across all competitions, and only one of those were at home.

So their winning touch has really deserted them for the large part. They did get a good cup upset victory out at Bournemouth in the third round of the season’s FA Cup though. Back at home, they are currently on a four-match winless streak at the Amex, scoring just the one goal in that sequence of matches. In eight of their last 11 games at the Amex, Brighton have scored exactly one goal in. They don’t do things by big margins. To be fair they have taken three clean sheets in their last five at the Amex.

Key-Facts – Brighton v Derby

  • Brighton have won only two of their last 14 fixtures
  • The Seagulls are winless in four home fixtures
  • Derby have lost just one of their last 10 games in all competitions

Derby News and Form

Derby will be eyeing up this FA Cup tie and even though they are out on the road at a Premier League side, they may not be fearing this too much. The big goal for Derby this season is trying to finish in the top six in the Championship. But they could only manage a 1-1 draw away at bottom side Ipswich on Wednesday. But that leaves the Rams with only one loss in their last 10 games across all competitions. It leaves them four matches undefeated on their travels as well.

They had a taste of success against the Premier League side in the third round of this season’s FA Cup, beating Southampton. The Rams got the job done in a penalty shootout in the replay at St Mary’s. Derby took a 1-0 away win at League One side Accrington in the fourth round. Overall in all competitions, Derby have suffered only the one defeat in their last six on the road. There is every reason to believe that they are going to be well in this tie at the Amex stadium. Home side Brighton may find it hard to shake off the Rams.

Brighton v Derby Predictions

Brighton to win: This has the look of being a really tight scrap at the Amex but Brighton have done well at home and may have just enough to squeeze through. Home win.
