Brighton v Tottenham Betting Tips – Premier League 17th April 7.45pm

Brighton suffered a loss at Crystal Palace on the weekend, the fourth game in a row which they have failed to win. They still have a comfortable cushion between themselves and the drop zone though but any points out of this one would just ease nerves. Tottenham had their long unbeaten streak of Premier League form snapped on the weekend as Man City came for a visit and blew them away. There’s still a shot at a second-place finish for them though.

Brighton News and Form

Brighton have managed to collect only the one point from the last twelve available to them in the top flight. They showed plenty of fight and spirit on the weekend at Selhurst Park against Crystal Palace but ended up losing 3-2. Their home form hasn’t been bad at all though recently with a W3 D1 L1 record at the Amex going in their last five, but they are winless in two there. They have collected a W6 D7 L4 record overall for the season at home. The half time draw at bet365 for 7/5 odds* (Betting Odds taken at 6:57 p.m. on April 15th, 2018) is worth considering as Brighton have been level at the break in ten of their home fixtures this season. There has not been a clean sheet earned by them in any of their last seven league home games though and on average have conceded 1.4 goals per home game. They have taken a clean sheet in only 24% of their entire home games. But less than half of their home games have managed to get above the 2.5 goal line so the trend is to go under. Actually nearly 70% of their games (home and away combined) have ended under 2.5 goals. Brighton have scored 64% of their home goals this season in the second half of matches.

Tottenham News and Form

Tottenham were not anywhere near matching up to the quality of Manchester City on the weekend, the Lilywhites losing 3-1 at home. They just weren’t allowed to play and couldn’t figure out how to stop the Citizens. The defeat snapped a fourteen match undefeated streak of form that they were on too. But their strong away form does stay intact with Spurs on a four-match winning streak, netting at least two goals in each of their last three on the road. Tottenham are currently undefeated in eight away from Wembley in the top flight and overall this season on their travels they have produced a W10 D3 L4 record. They have found the back of the net in each of their last eleven road games, scoring in each of their last 21 league games home and away combined. So it’s likely they’ll get on the scoresheet, but this could be a tough game still and Spurs to win by a one-goal margin is at 11/4 odds* (Betting Odds taken at 6:57 p.m. on April 15th, 2018). Harry Kane heads up the anytime goalscorer market as you would expect, but Christian Eriksen continues to perform so well for them at the better value. Spurs go into the midweek game four points behind second-placed Manchester United so have a chance to close the gap.

Brighton v Tottenham Head to Head

Spurs collected a 2-0 home win over the Seagulls earlier this season, making it back to back 2-0 successes for them over the Seagulls in their last two meetings. The clash at Wembley this season was the first Premier League meeting between the two sides and only the fifteenth meeting overall. From those previous clashes, it is Spurs who are 9-3 ahead with three drawn matches. Spurs did lose their last visit to Brighton which was back in the old Division One in 1983.

Brighton v Tottenham Predictions

Spurs to win: The Lilywhites still have to keep chugging away to try and lock down second place. They are good enough to beat most of the league, if not Manchester City. They should the quality to bounce back and take a win, but against Brighton, probably only by the one-goal margin.
