Brighton threw away at a great chance at three points in midweek. They were leading 2-0 away at Fulham on Tuesday but fell apart in the second half, conceding four goals. That leaves Brighton in a tough run of three straight Premier League defeats. They have only managed one win in their last nine league fixtures played now.

So they need to dig a little deeper to pull themselves out of this poor form. They are sliding backwards. Brighton have lost six of their last nine. Overall this season their home form in the top flight reads W5 D3 L3. Each of their last three there have ended under 2.5 goals.

In their run of home games this season in the Premier League, Brighton have produced 15 goals. They have earned a clean sheet in 27% of their 11 home games. In just three of their home fixtures this season, have Brighton found themselves trailing at the halftime break, so that has been pretty solid from them.

Unfortunately for them, in the end, they couldn’t do it as they conceded late to suffer a 2-1 defeat. They were on a good four-match undefeated streak of form before that in the Premier League, winning two of those. But if you look at the bigger picture of their current form, that was just their second defeat in their last eight games played.

The other defeat in that sequence was also against one of the current top five sides, Chelsea. Watford’s away record this season in the top flight is a perfectly even W4 D4 L4 record. There have been positives for them there lately because they have won two of their last four away fixtures (D1 L1). Watford have scored at least two goals in four of their last five on the road.

The Hornets have scored in each of their last five away games in the top flight. Across the course of the season, they have scored 17 away goals, conceding 16. Only 40% of their road games have gone over 2.5 goals this season. They have struggled defensively somewhat in landing clean sheets. They have only managed two away from home, and they have failed to get one in any of their last three away from Vicarage Road.
