The Hammers had a bad start to the season after suffering a 5-0 loss against Manchester City. At Home. To their credit, West Ham had started really well in the game and had plenty of possession in the opposition’s half. They just couldn’t get the early advantage that they needed to settle themselves. After they had conceded, that just opened the floodgates unfortunately. Still, they can write that game off against the reigning champions, as many will continue to suffer at the hands of the Citizens.
West Ham look on paper as if they can shape up well in attack, although it didn’t happen last weekend for them. West Ham’s away record last season was W6 D5 L10 in the top flight. They took back to back wins away from home at the end of their campaign and they were good wins as well. They came against Tottenham and Watford. The Hammers managed a clean sheet in just 16% of their away games last season. Get last weekend’s effort out of their mind and they can challenge on the south coast.
